Mckay Securities plc Starts 48,000 Sq Ft Speculative Office Development Scheme in RedHill

McKay Securities plc announced that it has commenced its major office development scheme on London Road in Redhill, Surrey on a speculative basis. The new building will be called Prospero. When finished, the development will comprise of 48,050 sq ft, (4,463 sq. m) of high quality office space laid out over a ground floor and three upper floors, with 87 car parking spaces at ground and basement level. It is the only new office scheme under construction in Redhill, and will offer occupiers, large modern floor plates in a town centre location, close to the railway station.

McKay Securities PLC announced that Nick Shepherd has been appointed to the Board as an independent non-executive Director and as a member of the company Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees. Nick Shepherd was managing partner of Drivers Jonas from 2001 until 2010 when he led the sale of the business to Deloitte and its subsequent integration. Following this, he joined the Deloitte UK Executive Board and was appointed a Vice Chairman in 2012 before retiring from the business in 2013. The Directors of McKay Securities plc have declared an interim dividend of 2.7 pence per share for the six months ended September 30, 2014 compared to 2.7 pence per share a year ago, which will be paid as a Property Income Distribution. The dividend will be payable on January 8, 2015, record date is November 28, 2014 and ex-dividend date is November 27, 2014. The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported net rental income from investment properties of GBP 7,227,000 against GBP 6,299,000 a year ago. Operating profit before gains on investment properties was GBP 5,116,000 against GBP 4,659,000 a year ago. Operating profit was GBP 19,756,000 against GBP 12,690,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was GBP 13,937,000 against GBP 22,793,000 a year ago. Net asset value per share was 215 pence against 201 pence a year ago. Adjusted profit before tax was GBP 2,745,000 against GBP 1,666,000 a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share were GBP 2.98 pence against 3.63 pence a year ago. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were 2.93 pence against 3.54 pence a year ago. Drawn debt at September 30, 2014 was GBP 93.50 million against GBP 100.50 million a year ago.
