The company operates in two segments, McKesson Distribution Solutions and McKesson Technology Solutions. The McKesson Distribution Solutions segment distributes ethical and proprietary drugs and equipment, and health and beauty care products. This segment also provides specialty pharmaceutical solutions for biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturers; and practice management, technology, clinical support, and business solutions to oncology and other specialty practices operating in the community setting. In addition, this segment offers medical-surgical supply distribution, equipment, logistics, and other services to healthcare providers through a network of distribution centers in the United States; sells financial, operational, and clinical solutions for pharmacies; and provides consulting, outsourcing, and other services. The McKesson Technology Solutions segment delivers enterprise-wide clinical, patient care, financial, supply chain, and strategic management software solutions; and connectivity, outsourcing, and other services, such as remote hosting and managed services to healthcare organizations. This segment also offers InterQual clinical criteria solution, claims payment solutions, and network performance tools. This segment’s customers include hospitals, physicians, homecare providers, retail pharmacies, and payers. McKesson Corporation was founded in 1833 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

McKesson announced that it will exhibit a new organization-wide content management tool, OneContent, during HIMSS15 in Chicago, April 12-16. The solution addresses content storage challenges that customers face regarding health information management (HIM) and enterprise-wide data overload. McKesson Corporation announced Conserus, a suite of flexible, vendor-neutral solutions for healthcare IT enterprise and diagnostic imaging. The Conserus suite includes flexible quality and communication Workflows, Enterprise Worklists driven by clinical and business logic, an Enterprise Image Repository and a Clinical Data Exchange. The solution suite is designed to help healthcare providers of all sizes and complexities go beyond simple VNAs and departmental systems, helping orchestrate clinician and related workflows by enabling interoperability between existing systems, fostering the transition from volume to value-base care. In complex health IT environment, an organization's IT systems and applications can directly impact its overall business health. Hospitals are ready to take advantage of the benefits of a modern and integrated EHR platform, yet they are often challenged with how to integrate and share among key systems. The Conserus suite of enterprise diagnostic imaging solutions helps organizations take advantage of the promise of image-enabling the EHR. With Conserus, healthcare providers can now better adapt to changing requirements in short time frames.

McKesson Corporation Appoints Executives

McKesson Corporation announced that Bansi Nagji has been appointed executive vice president of corporate strategy and business development. Prior to joining Monitor, he worked as a solicitor in London with one of Europe's large law firms. Brian Tyler Promoted to President, North American Pharmaceutical Distribution and Services. Tyler, McKesson's former strategy chief, has fully transitioned to a new role that was created after McKesson's acquisition of the global pharmaceutical distribution company, Celesio.
