Mercantile Bank Corporation operates as the bank holding company for Mercantile Bank of Michigan that provides commercial banking services for businesses, individuals, and governmental units. It accepts various deposit products, including checking, savings, and term certificate accounts; time deposits; and certificates of deposit, as well as repurchase agreements. The company also offers secured and unsecured commercial loans comprising commercial and industrial, vacant land, land development and residential construction, owner occupied real estate, non-owner occupied real estate, and multi-family and residential rental property loans; single-family residential real estate loans; home equity line of credit programs; and consumer loans, such as loans for new and used automobiles, boats, credit cards, and overdraft protection. In addition, the company provides courier services and safe deposit facilities; and insurance products, such as private passenger automobile, homeowners, personal inland marine, boat owners, recreational vehicle, dwelling fire, umbrella policies, small business, and life insurance products. As of July 22, 2014, it operated 53 banking offices in central and western Michigan. The company was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mercantile Bank Corp. Announces Amendments to Articles of Incorporation

The Board of Directors of Mercantile Bank Corp. adopted amended and restated Bylaws of the company at its Board meeting on February 26, 2015. The Amended and Restated Bylaws are effective as of February 26, 2015, The amendments to the previous Bylaws of the company consisted of the following: Article II, Section 2 was revised to provide that the annual meeting of shareholders will be held within five months of the end of the fiscal year of the Company, with the date, time and place of the meeting, if any, to be determined by the Board. The Bylaws previously provided that the annual meeting of shareholders would be held in April of each year. This amendment is intended to give the Board more flexibility in scheduling the annual meeting of shareholders and Ministerial amendments were made to Article I, Section 1 and Article II, Section 1 of the Bylaws to reflect the change of the principal office of the Company from Wyoming, Michigan to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
