Magellan Aerospace Corporation, through its subsidiaries, designs, engineers, and manufactures aeroengine and aerostructure components for aerospace markets in Canada, the United Sates, and Europe. It operates through two segments, Aerospace and Power Generation Project. The company manufactures aero engines products, including engine frames, compressor and fan cases, turbine cases, shafts, exhaust systems, and gearbox housing; space, satellites, and rocket systems; and aero structures components comprising landing gear systems, wing ribs and spars, bulkheads and fuselage components, tailcone assemblies, and composite wing and fairing structures. It also offers precision aluminum and magnesium sand cast components that primarily include engine mounted gearbox housings, power transmission housings, APU housings, engine inlets and intermediate cases, and front frames and fan cases; and manufactures wire strike protection systems for helicopter safety. In addition, the company is involved in manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling jet engines, military aircraft, gas turbines, helicopters, critical rotating and non-rotating engine components, jet engine nacelle, exhaust components, and heat-resistant space products; and machining of medium and large aerospace and jet engine components, as well as provision of metal finishing treatment services for aerospace products. Further, it supplies design engineering and aerostructures products to the commercial and defense markets; and parts and equipment for power generation projects, as well as focuses on electric power generation in the Republic of Ghana. The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada.

Magellan Aerospace Corp. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company's revenues were CAD 234,439,000 compared to CAD 221,050,000 a year ago. Income before interest and income taxes was CAD 23,603,000 compared to CAD 21,274,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was CAD 22,108,000 compared to CAD 18,806,000 a year ago. Net income was CAD 16,467,000 compared to CAD 13,606,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted net income per share was CAD 0.28 compared to CAD 0.23 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was CAD 36,070,000 compared to CAD 21,709,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was CAD 8,921,000 compared to CAD 4,966,000 a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 33,521,000 compared to CAD 30,191,000 a year ago. EBITDA per share was CAD 0.58 compared to CAD 0.52 a year ago. Increase in intangibles and other assets was CAD 921,000 compared to CAD 5,672,000 a year ago. Consolidated revenues for the second quarter of 2015 were 6.1% higher than revenues in the second quarter of 2014. On a constant currency basis, Canadian revenues decreased in the second quarter of 2015 by 21.1% over the same period of 2014 as a result of lower revenues earned. Increased revenues of 24.4% in the United States in the second quarter of 2015 in comparison to the second quarter of 2014 were partially due the stronger United States dollar in comparison to the Canadian dollar during the same periods in 2015 and 2014, and higher production volumes on several of the Corporation's commercial aircraft programs. On a constant currency basis, revenues in the United States increased by 10.3% in the second quarter of 2015 over the same period in 2014. European revenues in the second quarter of 2015 increased 17.6% over revenues in the same period in 2014 primarily due to an increase in revenues on the Airbus statement of work and the strengthening of the British pound in comparison to the Canadian dollar. On a constant currency basis, revenues in the second quarter of 2015 in Europe increased by 14.4% over the same period in 2014. The acquisition of Euravia, which was included in operations from May 15, 2015, also contributed to the higher revenues earned in Europe in the second quarter of 2015. For the six months, the company's revenues were CAD 462,692,000 compared to CAD 431,552,000 a year ago. Income before interest and income taxes was CAD 51,761,000 compared to CAD 39,623,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was CAD 48,457,000 compared to CAD 35,457,000 a year ago. Net income was CAD 35,689,000 compared to CAD 25,685,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted net income per share was CAD 0.61 compared to CAD 0.44 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was CAD 43,032,000 compared to CAD 23,659,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was CAD 14,980,000 compared to CAD 11,530,000 a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 70,873,000 compared to CAD 57,321,000 a year ago. EBITDA per share was CAD 1.22 compared to CAD 0.98 a year ago. Increase in intangibles and other assets was CAD 3,533,000 compared to CAD 8,771,000 a year ago.

Magellan Aerospace Corporation Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Mahindra Aerospace to Develop A Partnership Agreement

Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Mahindra Aerospace to develop a partnership agreement. This agreement will provide the framework for the two companies to offer their mutual customers major structural assemblies, machined components and fabrications for the global market. This agreement supports their customer's strategy to develop supply from India. The Magellan /Mahindra MOU responds to the needs of their customers, who were seeking a solution to support larger work packages in India. Under the terms of the agreement, Magellan and Mahindra will develop a framework to partner on jointly responding to and developing new aerostructures business opportunities. Magellan will manufacture and supply large, complex machined components from its European and North American facilities, supported by detailed machined parts from Magellan's existing Indian joint ventures, API and Triveni. Mahindra will lead in providing sheet metal and the fabricated detailed parts to support these assemblies. Mahindra will also develop a major structural assembly capability at its Bangalore-based facility.
