Magellan Aerospace Corporation, through its subsidiaries, designs, engineers, and manufactures aeroengine and aerostructure components for aerospace markets in Canada, the United Sates, and Europe. It operates through two segments, Aerospace and Power Generation Project. The company manufactures aero engines products, including engine frames, compressor and fan cases, turbine cases, shafts, exhaust systems, and gearbox housing; space, satellites, and rocket systems; and aero structures components comprising landing gear systems, wing ribs and spars, bulkheads and fuselage components, tailcone assemblies, and composite wing and fairing structures. It also offers precision aluminum and magnesium sand cast components that primarily include engine mounted gearbox housings, power transmission housings, APU housings, engine inlets and intermediate cases, and front frames and fan cases; and manufactures wire strike protection systems for helicopter safety. In addition, the company is involved in manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling jet engines, military aircraft, gas turbines, helicopters, critical rotating and non-rotating engine components, jet engine nacelle, exhaust components, and heat-resistant space products; and machining of medium and large aerospace and jet engine components, as well as provision of metal finishing treatment services for aerospace products. Further, it supplies design engineering and aerostructures products to the commercial and defense markets; and parts and equipment for power generation projects, as well as focuses on electric power generation in the Republic of Ghana. The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada.

Magellan Aerospace to Open New Precision Machining Facility in Mielec, Poland

Magellan Aerospace announced that it will open a new, advanced, precision machining facility in Mielec, Poland. The new machining centre complements Magellan's existing surface treatment facility in Poland and is expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2015. The facility will initially specialise in the production of small to medium size components for the aerospace market, and will be further expanded to incorporate precision assembly and aeroengine machining. The expansion of Magellan's operations in Poland are in support of company's customers' growing demand for globalisation.

Magellan Aerospace Corp. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of CAD 208,942,000 compared to CAD 195,960,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was CAD 23,901,000 compared to CAD 20,956,000 a year ago. Net income was CAD 17,855,000 or CAD 0.31 per basic and diluted share compared to CAD 16,752,000 or CAD 0.29 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was CAD 34,633,000 compared to CAD 38,130,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was CAD 16,699,000 compared to CAD 17,828,000 a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 34,689,000 compared to CAD 31,042,000 a year ago. Increased revenue and gross profit for the fourth quarter of 2014 relative to the same quarter of 2013 is the primary cause for the current increase in EBITDA. The decrease in cash generated from operations quarter over quarter was primarily due to increased inventory levels and lower accounts payable, accrued liabilities and provisions. For the full year, the company reported revenues of CAD 843,036,000 compared to CAD 752,126,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was CAD 77,100,000 compared to CAD 60,722,000 a year ago. Net income was CAD 56,572,000 or CAD 0.97 per basic and diluted share compared to CAD 45,483,000 or CAD 0.78 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was CAD 78,576,000 compared to CAD 69,819,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was CAD 35,481,000 compared to CAD 31,299,000 a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 120,287,000 compared to CAD 100,752,000 a year ago. The company announced that CapEx forecasting in 2015 is similar to that in 2014. The expected average future effective tax rate is approximately 25% to 27% of pretax income.
