JLT Specialty Appoints David Gordon as CEO of the Specie, Fine Art & Jewellery Division

JLT Specialty has recruited David Gordon from Willis to head up its specie, fine art & jewellery division. He is scheduled to join with Barry Vickery and a further 20 ex-willis colleagues subject to the fulfilment of their contractual obligations. Gordon who will be appointed as CEO of the specie, fine art & jewellery division at JLT Specialty was previously global managing director, Willis fine art, jewellery & specie, a role he held since 2002. Prior to joining JLT Specialty, Vickery was an executive director at Willis and before that leader of Aon Risk Services' global fine art and specie team.

Mark Drummond-Brady, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of JLT said that the group was not eyeing more "transformational" deals such as the Towers Watson Re but would continue to look for strategic acquisitions. He commented: "Our focus has been and will remain on bolt-on opportunities all over the globe. The cheque book is open all over the globe to help us find opportunities to enhance our organic growth where it makes sense by making strategic acquisitions."
