Littelfuse, Inc. designs, manufactures, and sells circuit protection devices for use in the automotive, electronic, and electrical markets worldwide. It operates in three segments: Electronics, Automotive, and Electrical. The Electronics segment provides fuses and protectors, positive temperature coefficient resettable fuses, varistors, polymer electrostatic discharge suppressors, discrete transient voltage suppression diodes, transient voltage suppression diode arrays and protection thyristors, gas discharge tubes, power switching components and fuseholders, blocks, and related accessories. This segment markets its products under the PICO II and NANO2 SMF brands to manufacturers of a range of electronic products, including mobile phones, computers, LCD TVs, telecommunications equipment, medical devices, lighting products, and white goods. The Automotive segment provides blade and high current fuses, battery cable protectors, and varistors. This segment markets its products under the ATO, MINI, MAXI, MIDI, MEGA, MasterFuse, JCASE, and CablePro brands to the automotive original equipment manufacturers and parts distributors of passenger automobiles, trucks, buses, and off-road equipment; and sells its fuses in the automotive replacement parts market. The Electrical segment offers power fuses and other circuit protection devices for use in commercial and industrial buildings, as well as large equipment, such as HVAC systems, elevators, and machine tools. The company also provides a line of electromechanical and electronic switch and control devices for commercial and specialty vehicles; and sensors for automobile safety systems, as well as protection relays and power distribution centers for the safe control and distribution of electricity. Littelfuse, Inc. sells its products through distributors, direct sales force, and manufacturers’ representatives. The company was founded in 1927 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Littelfuse, Inc. Introduces Two New Series of NANO2 Subminiature Fuse

Littelfuse Inc. has introduced two new series of its NANO2 subminiature fuse, each of which provides surge tolerance and circuit protection against overload conditions for downstream components. Both feature highly compact surface mountable packages for high design flexibility in space-constrained applications; the SMT design supports higher placement speed and higher yields during product manufacturing. With a 1206 (3.15x1.5mm) footprint, the 470 Series Fuse is the smallest 125VAC-rated surface-mountable fuse available in the Littelfuse portfolio; it is designed mainly to serve as primary side circuit protection in compact applications with high AC voltage requirements. It has outstanding performance characteristics, including high breaking capacity and unparalleled I2t values. The 476 Series is a family of 250VAC-rated surface mountable fuses in a compact 2410 (6.10mm x 2.69mm) footprint. It is the smallest SMT fuse with this high voltage rating and, like the 470 Series, is designed for primary side circuit protection in compact devices with high voltage requirements. The 476 Series operates at extreme temperatures without excessive sacrifices on current re-rating. It is available in the number of amperage ratings at the rated voltages, up to 5A rated to 250V, compared to only up to the 2A rating currently available in the market. Typical applications for the 470 and 476 Series include LED lighting, LCD/LED TVs, white goods (major household appliances), notebooks/PCs and power supply units. The 476 Series meets the global IEC61000-4-5 2 ed. Surge Immunity test requirements (3A and above ampere rating only) for ratings applicable to most LED lighting applications, and is available with complete/combined interrupting ratings for most high voltage applications. The 470 Series NANO2 Subminiature Fuse is available in quantities of 1,500 and the 476 Series NANO2 Subminiature Fuse is available in quantities of 1,000, both in tape and reel packaging.

Littelfuse Inc. Introduces SLD Series TVS Diode for Automotive and High Reliability Applications

Littelfuse Inc. has introduced the SLD Series TVS Diode for automotive and high reliability applications. This AEC-Q101 qualified TVS Diode is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events. It offers a 5000W (10/1000µs) or 2200W (load dump) peak pulse power dissipation rating in a standard P600 package. The SLD Seriesâ combination of compact design and superior electrical performance offer circuit designers the freedom to upgrade their circuit protection in their existing design footprint or provide more robust load dump protection for new projects. Applications for SLD Series TVS Diodes include DC power protection and ESD protection in automotive electronics like ECU, TCU, BCM, sensors and entertainment systems, as well as in other long pulse applications that require high reliability. The new SLD Series TVS Diode is AEC-Q101 qualified, which makes it very well suited for high reliability applications. It offers peak pulse power dissipation ratings that are ideal for automotive applications. The SLD Series TVS Diode offers these key benefits: Meets international standards of the automotive industry, which makes it ideal for protective sensitive automotive systems from load dump and other transient voltage events; AEC-Q101 qualified with a junction temperature (Tj) up to 175°C ensures maximum reliability in automotive and high reliability applications; Compact footprint of the industry-standard P600 package allow quick and easy layout in high reliability applications; Both uni-directional and bi-directional polarity devices offer from 10V to 60V standoff voltage, fulfilling all design requirements for automotive applications. Availability: The SLD Series TVS Diode is available in quantities of 800 (tape and reel packaging) and 100 (bulk packaging). Littelfuse, Inc. Expands IGBT Module Power Semiconductor Line

Littelfuse Inc. has expanded its line of IGBT module power semiconductor products designed for motor control and inverter applications. IGBT Power Modules are available in a broader range of package designs, now including half-bridge, six-pack, and PIM modules in S, D, H, W, and WB packages, with ratings up to 1700V and 450A. These modules offer the high efficiency and fast switching speeds of modern IGBT technology in a robust and flexible format. In addition to the standard designs, Littelfuse can provide customized solutions to meet clients' exact specifications. These modules will find many power applications in industrial electronics, including in industrial drives and motion control, solar invertors, UPSs/switched mode power supplies, and welding machines. IGBT Module Power Semiconductors offer these key benefits: ultra-low loss ensures high efficiency and switching speed; high ruggedness provides high reliability in demanding applications; high short circuit capability reduces protection requirements; positive temperature coefficient devices can be paralleled easily to increase current handling capability and fast free-wheeling diodes, providing an integrated solution in a compact module package.
