faiveley transport (LEY) Key Developments

Faiveley Transport Wins EUR 15 Million Contract from Regie Autonome Des Transports Parisiens

Faiveley Transport announced that it has won a contract worth in excess of EUR 15 million from Regie Autonome des Transports Parisiens, or RATP, and will supply platform screen doors for the four new stations which will extend Line 14 of the Paris Metro northwards between the Saint-Lazare and Mairie de Saint-Ouen stations. These four new stations are Pont Cardinet, Porte de Clichy, Clichy Saint-Ouen and Mairie de Saint Ouen represent the initial extended section of Line 14 of the Saint Lazare Olympiades metro, eventually intended to link Saint-Denis Pleyel in the north of Paris with Orly Airport in the south. The first stage of the Nouveau Grand Paris project transport network, the purpose of extending Line 14 between the stations Saint Lazare and Mairie de Saint-Ouen is to relieve pressure on Line 13, which is particularly busy to the north of Saint-Lazare, to improve links and connections with the current and proposed public transport network, and to better serve the expanding north-west districts of the city. Faiveley Transport will be responsible for the study, development, supply, certification, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of the platform screen doors. The studies, production and monitoring of the installation will be carried out by the Saint-Pierre des Corps site, the Group's Platform Screen Doors Centre of Competence. The first installations are scheduled for the second quarter of 2018, and will be continued until early 2019. Under the contract, Faiveley Transport will be part of a consortium with the company Eiffage Energie Ferroviaire.

Faiveley Transport Receives Contract from Stadler Rail Group

Faiveley Transport has received a contract with Stadler Rail Group to supply heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, or HVAC, and pressure protection systems which will equip the newly developed Swiss EC250 EuroCity high-speed trains. The EC250 EuroCity high-speed trains, ordered in 2014 by SBB to Stadler Rail Group for future international NRLA (New Rail Link through the Alps) services, are designed to operate in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria at a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Made up of eleven cars, the newly developed EC250 is a 200 meters long articulated train and the world's first single-decker low floor high-speed train. Under the terms of the contract worth more than €10 million, Faiveley Transport will be in charge of the design, engineering, manufacturing and extensive testing of HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) for passenger compartments and driver cabs. HVAC systems will comprise pressure protection devices, preventing sudden pressure changes on high-speed trains and providing passengers with world-class comfort. Delivery is expected to start by mid-2016 and completed in 2020.
