Kyocera Corporation manufactures, sells, and distributes industrial components, and telecommunications and information equipment worldwide. Its Fine Ceramic Parts Group segment offers components for semiconductor processing and flat panel display manufacturing equipment, information and telecommunication components, automotive components, sapphire substrates, and general industrial machinery components. The company’s Semiconductor Parts Group segment provides ceramic and organic multilayer packages and substrates for crystal components, SAW devices, CMOS/CCD sensors, communication infrastructures, and computers. Its Applied Ceramic Products Group segment offers solar modules and generating system for commercial and residential uses; cutting tools used in metal processing; medical and dental implant products, including prosthetic joints and dental prosthetics; and recrystallized jewelry and applied ceramic related products, such as kitchen accessories. The company’s Electronic Devices Group segment provides electronic components and devices comprising capacitors, SAW devices, crystal components, and connectors for information and communication market; liquid crystal displays for industrial machinery and automotive markets; and printing devices. Its Telecommunications Equipment Group segment offers mobile phones, and PHS related products, such as PHS handsets and PHS base stations. The company’s Information Equipment Group segment provides monochrome and color printers, multifunctional products, wide format systems, document solutions, application software, and supplies. Its Others segment offers information systems and telecommunication, engineering, and management consulting services; materials for semiconductors and chemical materials; and realty development services. The company was formerly known as Kyoto Ceramic Kabushiki Kaisha and changed its name to Kyocera Corporation in 1982. Kyocera Corporation was founded in 1959 and is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.

Kyocera Corp. to Construct a New Manufacturing Plant in China

Kyocera Corp. announced that it will construct a new manufacturing plant in China, aimed at further strengthening the company’s industrial cutting tool business in the country. KPTG was established in January 2015 as a joint venture between Kyocera and a tungsten refining company in China, Ganzhou Grand Sea W&Mo Group Co. Ltd. (President: Zeng Qingnin, herein “Ganzhou Grand Sea”), in order to meet the growing demand for industrial cutting tools in the automotive industry in China — where more automobiles are manufactured than any other country in the world. KPTG plans to begin operations at the new plant in January 2016 to produce carbide inserts. The plant will become Kyocera’s fourth manufacturing base for industrial cutting tools in China, in addition to its plants in Dongguan, Zhuhai and Shanghai.

Kyocera Showcases Next-Generation LCD Displays with Advanced Wide View, Super High Brightness at DisplayWeek 2015

Kyocera announced that its next-generation LCD displays will be showcased at DisplayWeek 2015 this week. The company's innovative thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD displays allow bright colors to be seen clearly even in intense sunlight making them ideal for industrial applications including medical, aerospace, marine, test and measurement, and factory automation equipment. Kyocera's new 10.4 XGA (TCG104XGLP) and 12.1 XGA (TCG121XGLP) TFT-LCD displays feature 1024 x 768 resolution and the latest high-efficiency, long-lifetime LED backlights with brightness ratings of 1300cd/m2 (10.4) and 1200cd/m2 (12.1). Powered with Kyocera's Advanced Wide View (AWV) technology, the displays achieve a wide, 85-degree viewing angle in all directions. Kyocera's LED driver circuit is fully integrated, eliminating the need for additional components to drive the backlights. The new TFT-LCDs are designed with a standard LVDS interface, and offer a wide operating temperature range of -30º to 80º C, ideal for outdoor applications.
