Royal KPN N.V. Announces Board Changes

Royal KPN N.V. announced that Mr. Duco Sickinghe will succeed Mr. Jos Streppel as the new chairman of the Supervisory Board as of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 15 April 2015. Mr. Streppel will step down as chairman and member of the Supervisory Board at the closing of the AGM when his third and final term terminates. Next to Mr. Streppel, Ms. Hooymans will also step down at the end of her second term at the AGM. The Supervisory Board nominates, taking due account of the profile of the Supervisory Board, Ms. Jolande Sap for appointment as member of the Supervisory Board. Ms. Sap currently chairs the Supervisory Board of Arkin, a mental healthcare institution and is a partner of cultural leadership firm Camunico.

KPN Reports Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

KPN reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year 2014. The company reported fourth quarter revenues flat at EUR 2.07 billion. One-time income including a tax credit of EUR 44 million offset a 2.1% drop in underlying sales. EBITDA fell by 3.0% to EUR 669 million. EBIT roughly doubled compared to a year earlier to EUR 218 million, and the net loss narrowed to EUR 37 million, impacted by costs for repurchasing debt. Capex increased 17% to EUR 482 million, resulting in negative free cash flow of EUR 199 million. For the year, the company reported profit fell to EUR 239 million ($273 million) in 2014, down 18% from EUR 293 million a year earlier. Turnover dipped by 4.6% to EUR 8.0 billion over the same period. Capex over the full year totaled EUR 1.41 billion, slightly above company’s forecast for less than EUR 1.4 billion. For 2015, the company forecast stable EBITDA by year-end, cost savings of over EUR 400 million (up from EUR 300 million previously), capex of less than EUR 1.4 billion (down from less than EUR 1.5 billion earlier), cash flow higher than the adjusted EUR 405 million in 2014 (excluding any dividend from Telefonica Deutschland).

The final dividend of EUR 0.05 per share is expected to be paid in April 2015 The company intends to pay a total dividend per share of EUR 0.08 in respect of 2015. The dividend per share in respect of 2016 is expected to grow further.
