KONE Wins a Fourth Consecutive Oasis-Class Cruise Ship Order

KONE will equip Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's latest luxury cruise ship, Oasis 4. The new ship will be a sister vessel of the world's large cruise vessel Oasis 3, with 42 elevators and two escalators. This is the fourth consecutive Oasis-class order for KONE. The cruise ship will feature KONE's energy-efficient people flow solutions which will benefit altogether 7,700 passengers and crew members on a daily basis. KONE is to supply the 360m long and 220,000 Gross Registered Tons (GRT) cruise ship with 24 energy-efficient KONE MiniSpace(TM) passenger elevators, including 12 scenic glass cabins, four KONE MiniSpace(TM) service elevators and 14 KONE MonoSpace(R) service elevators. All the elevators will include regenerative drives that supply energy back to the ship's power network. Oasis 4 will also be equipped with a special gangway button option which will direct passengers automatically to the correct level for disembarkation, depending on the port. The order also calls for KONE to supply two KONE TravelMaster(R) galley escalators and three KONE Motala MC 2000 platforms for people with limited mobility. Oasis 4 will be built byt STX France in St. Nazaire, France and it is expected to be ready in 2018.

KONE Wins Order from Changhsa Kineer International Center

KONE has won an order to supply 51 elevators to the three office buildings of the Changhsa Kineer International Center in Changsha, Hunan province, China. Covering an area of over 3.5 hectares and reaching the height of 220m, the buildings are expected to handle approximately 6,000 daily visitors upon completion in 2017. To guarantee high-level service, reliability and efficiency of the elevators, the Changsha Kineer International towers will feature KONE E-Link monitoring system which will monitor the performance of the elevators and the building traffic. The E-Link system uses the building's standard Local Area Network (LAN), and the connected elevators can be monitored and managed using graphical software running on a standard PC. KONE E-Link traffic displays and provides an accurate view of the transportation status, demand, traffic performance, and availability of the elevators in the building.

KONE Wins Order for Fifth + Columbia in Seattle

KONE has won an order to provide 19 elevators at Fifth + Columbia, a 44-story office building to be constructed in Seattle's central business district. The building is scheduled to open in 2017. KONE solutions will include six KONE MonoSpace machine room-less elevators and 13 KONE MiniSpace elevators, traveling at speeds of up to 6 m/s. The office elevator groups will also utilize KONE Polaris Destination Control Systems, including touch screen destination operating panels. The contract was awarded by JTM Construction, the project's general contractor. The project developer and owners are Daniels Real Estate & Stockbridge Capital Group. The new building will be located in the heart of the Seattle central business district at 801 Fifth Avenue. In addition to more than 500,000 square feet of office space, a 184 room four-star hotel and spa will be located in the new tower. The new building's innovative geometric form and natural light glass facade were designed by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects of Seattle. The hotel and restaurant spaces will be designed by world renowned designer Philippe Starck. Fine dining will be available at 'The Bazaar' by internationally acclaimed Chef Jose Andres. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2014.
