Barclays Announces Executive Changes

Barclays announced the appointments of Andrew Lloyd and Scott Fordham to its Insurance and Financial Intermediaries team, Corporate Banking, in London. Andrew and Scott will report to Carl Boulton, Managing Director and Head of Insurance and Financial Intermediaries, Corporate Banking. Andrew joins as a Director within the Insurance team and will be responsible for further developing Barclays' proposition across Europe for both life and non-life markets. Prior to joining Barclays he led the insurance team at National Australia Bank in London, with responsibility for UK and Europe, as well as coverage of parts of the Bermudan market. He has significant experience working with large multinational insurance clients across a number of regions, with a focus on the life insurance and global reinsurance markets. Scott joins as a Director within the Financial Intermediaries team and will be responsible for structuring solutions for clients in the broker dealer and securitisation sectors. Scott has held a number of senior positions across the financial services and advisory market, and will bring significant expertise to this new position.

Barclays to Face Expanded 'Dark Pool' Suit

The New York Attorney General (AG) announced to be preparing to file an expanded Dark Pool suit against Barclays Plc. AG Eric Schneiderman announced that he was planning to broaden the scope of a lawsuit already filed against the bank that accused it of using the secretive trading exchanges, 'dark pools,' to bestow unfair advantage to some high-frequency traders at the expense of other clients.

Barclays PLC Appoints Jonathan Moulds as Chief Operating Officer, Effective February 02, 2015

Barclays PLC appointed Jonathan Moulds to the newly created role of Group Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Moulds will join the Executive Committee of Barclays and report directly to the Group Chief Executive Antony Jenkins. In this role Mr. Moulds will lead major change programmes across Barclays and is charged with accelerating delivery of the Group's strategic plan, Transform. He will have accountability for the Structural Reform Programme, which includes the implementation of the Ring-Fenced Bank in the UK and the Intermediate Holding Company in the US, and will oversee the Strategy and Corporate Development Team. Mr. Moulds will also establish and chair a Group Operating Committee which will ensure that the organisation is executing Barclays' strategy in an aligned and efficient way. Mr. Moulds will take up his post on 2 February 2015.
