The Research segment offers objective insight on critical and timely technology and supply chain initiatives for CIOs, other IT professionals, supply chain leaders, digital marketing professionals, technology companies, and the institutional investment community through reports, briefings, proprietary tools, access to analysts, peer networking services, and membership programs. It also provides analysis on various aspects of technology, including hardware, software and systems, services, IT management, market data and forecasts, and vertical-industry issues. This segment delivers its IT research and insight primarily through a subscription-based digital media service. The Consulting segment offers consulting, measurement engagements, and strategic advisory services, as well as proprietary tools for measuring and improving IT performance. This segment provides solutions to CIOs and other IT executives; targeted consulting services to professionals in specific industries; and actionable solutions for IT cost optimization, technology modernization, and IT sourcing optimization initiatives. The Events segment provides IT, supply chain, and business professionals the opportunity to attend various symposia, conferences, and exhibitions to learn, contribute, and network with their peers on specific topics, technologies, and industries providing. Gartner, Inc. was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.

Gartner Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of $471,186,000 against $446,702,000 a year ago. Operating income was $48,682,000 against $59,170,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $44,240,000 against $56,691,000 a year ago. Net income was $28,351,000 or $0.32 per diluted share against $37,736,000 or $0.40 per diluted share a year ago. Normalized EBITDA was $80,655,000 against $85,053,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share excluding acquisition adjustments were $0.37 against $0.44 a year ago. The company generated $5.7 million of operating cash flow in first quarter 2015 compared to $16.5 million in first quarter 2014. Additions to property, equipment and leasehold improvements totaled $11.6 million in first quarter 2015. For the year of 2015, the company’s total revenue expected to be in the range of $2,150 million to $2,205 million. GAAP diluted earnings per share expected to be in the range of $2.11 to $2.30. Normalized EBITDA expected to be in the range of $405 million to $430 million. Operating cash flow expected to be in the range of $348 million to $374 million. Acquisition and integration payments expected to be in the range of $12 million to $12 million. Capital expenditures expected to be in the range of $45 million to $46 million. Free cash flow expected to be in the range of $315 million to $340 million. For the second quarter of 2015, the company expects GAAP EPS of $0.56 to $0.60, including $0.04 per share of acquisition and integration charges.
