Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of $658.7 million against $684.7 million a year ago. Operating profit was $27.3 million against $47.7 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $27.4 million against $48.7 million a year ago. Net income attributable to stockholders was $22.7 million against $32.9 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $1.39 against $1.95 per share a year ago. EBITDA was $36.0 million. For the six months, the company reported revenues of $1,281.0 million against $1,360.7 million a year ago. Operating profit was $48.3 million against $79.3 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $47.1 million against $80.3 million a year ago. Net income attributable to stockholders was $36.6 million against $55.0 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $2.24 against $3.26 per share a year ago. EBITDA was $150.0 million. Net cash used for operating activities was $2.8 million against $13.6 million a year ago. For the year, the company’s revenues for the remainder of 2015 are also expected to be negatively affected by a shift in sales mix to lower-priced lift trucks. The company expects to incur cumulative operating losses of up to $40 million to $50 million over 2015 and the next one to two years, including approximately $13 million in the remainder of 2015, for additional research and development to commercialize Nuvera's technology broadly with the objective of reaching a break-even running rate during 2017.
