Home Financial Bancorp announced that effective immediately, Denise A. Sudol and Darrell W. White have been appointed as Directors of the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Our Community Bank. White was appointed to fill the vacancy on the board of directors created by the death of Gary M. Monnett, who died January 7, 2015. He will serve the remainder of Monnett's term, or until 2017. White, who worked for nine years as a science teacher in high school, later worked for more than 23 years as a product manager, field sales manager and in other positions with medical device manufacturers, Van-Tec and Boston Scientific. Sudol has worked in a family business in Jacksonville since 1990, focusing on real estate and property development, and also performed as a stand-up comedian. She served on the board of Spencer Main Street.

Home Financial Bancorp announced unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter ended June 30, 2015, the company reported net loss of $83,000, or $0.07 basic and diluted loss per common share. During the quarter ended June 30, 2015, the company made a change in estimate related to the useful life of a non-bank property held for future bank use. This change in estimate resulted in additional depreciation expense of approximately $292,000 for the year ended June 30, 2015. Excluding $292,000 of expenses related to change in estimate and the related tax benefit of $92,000, net income would have been $117,000 or $0.10 basic and diluted earnings per common share. For the same period last year, the company reported net income of $90,000, or $0.08 basic and diluted earnings per common share. Total interest income for the quarter was down due to a $72,000, or 8% decrease in loan interest income. This decrease was partially offset by a $25,000, or 17% decline in total interest expense. Net interest income before provisions for loan losses fell $48,000, or 7% for the three months ended June 30, 2015, compared to fourth quarter 2014. For the twelve-month period ended June 30, 2015, the company reported net income of $177,000, or $0.15 basic and diluted earnings per common share. Excluding expenses of approximately $200,000, net of tax, related to the change in estimate mentioned previously, net income from operations was $377,000, or $0.32 basic and diluted earnings per common share. The company reported earnings of $379,000 or $0.32 basic and diluted earnings per common share for fiscal 2014. Net interest income before the provision for loan losses decreased $235,000 to $2.8 million for fiscal year 2015. Total interest income decreased $320,000, or 9%, but was only partially offset by $86,000, or 14% decline in interest expense for the year. Book value per share was $7.30 compared with $7.23 for the same period a year ago.
