Hubbell Incorporated designs, manufactures, and sells electrical and electronic products in the United States and internationally. It operates through two segments, Electrical and Power. The Electrical segment offers standard and special application wiring device products, rough-in electrical products, connector and grounding products, lighting fixtures and controls, and other electrical equipment for use in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities by electrical contractors, maintenance personnel, electricians, and telecommunications companies. It also designs and manufactures various high voltage test and measurement equipment, industrial controls, and communication systems for use in the non-residential and industrial markets, as well as in the oil and gas, and mining industries. This segment sells its products through electrical and industrial distributors, home centers, retail and hardware outlets, lighting showrooms, and residential product oriented Internet sites; special application products primarily through distributors to contractors, industrial customers, and original equipment manufacturers; and high voltage products directly to its customers. The Power segment designs, manufactures, and sells distribution, transmission, substation, and telecommunications products. This segment sells its products directly, as well as through distributors to electric utilities, telecommunication companies, pipeline and mining operations, industrial firms, construction and engineering firms, and transportation industries. Hubbell Incorporated was founded in 1888 and is headquartered in Shelton, Connecticut.

Hubbell Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company’s net sales were USD 848.8 million against USD 806.6 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 126.1 million against USD 126.2 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was USD 118.3 million against USD 116.5 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was USD 81.3 million against USD 82.0 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were USD 1.38 against USD 1.38 a year ago. Free cash flow was USD 135.5 million against USD 137.5 million a year ago. For the year, the company’s net sales were USD 3,359.4 million against USD 3,183.9 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 517.4 million against USD 507.6 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was USD 485.5 million against USD 473.8 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was USD 325.3 million against USD 326.5 million a year ago. Hubbell Inc. (NYSE:HUB.B) is seeking acquisitions. David G. Nord, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hubbell, said, “Turning to our 2015 outlook, we expect overall sales to increase 5 to 7% with acquisitions contributing between 5 and 6%. From a profitability standpoint, we are facing several headwinds including the impact of lower oil prices on our Harsh and Hazardous businesses and unfavorable foreign exchange rates. Despite these challenges, we are planning on offsetting those headwinds through productivity, increased restructuring actions and capital deployment for both acquisitions and share repurchases.”
