Hersha Hospitality Trust Closes $300 Million Senior Unsecured Term Loan

Hersha Hospitality Trust announced that it has closed on a new $300 million senior unsecured term loan. The new loan, together with the company's $500 million senior unsecured credit facility, brings the real estate investment trust's borrowing capacity to $800 million. The new loan's interest rate is based on a pricing grid with a range of 150 to 225 basis points over LIBOR, based on the company's leverage ratio, and matures in five years from the closing date. At closing, $210 million was advanced to Hersha as a single draw. The company said it will use the new term loan to refinance existing indebtedness, as well as for general corporate purposes, potential acquisitions and capital expenditures.
