Its investment banking services include arranging and managing debt and equity fund raising, private debt securities issuances, syndicated loans, initial public offerings, rights issues, restricted issues, special issues, and private placements; other corporate related advisory services, such as corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, asset and investment valuation, takeovers and privatizations, and capital market instruments; and debt and equity underwriting, deposit taking, and treasury-related solutions, as well as trading and distribution of fixed income instruments. The company also offers a range of broking services for institutional, high net worth, and retail investors; and managed solutions across segregated assets and unit trust funds for state governments, insurance companies, endowments, family offices, corporations, and high net worth individuals. In addition, it provides nominees and custodian services; offers unit trust and fund management services; and sells unit trusts. The company was formerly known as HLG Capital Berhad and changed its name to Hong Leong Capital Berhad in November 2010. The company is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hong Leong Capital Berhad is a subsidiary of Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad.

Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad To Impose Suspension On Trading Of Shares Of Hong Leong Capital Berhad

After due deliberation and having considered all the facts and circumstances of the matter including Hong Leong Capital Berhad’s written representations, the Appeals Committee has decided to dismiss the appeal of the company and uphold the decision of the Listing Committee that a suspension be imposed on the trading of the company’s shares for the breach of paragraph 8.02(1) of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad Main Market Listing Requirements. In the circumstances, the trading in the securities of the company will be suspended with effect from March 26, 2015.

Hong Leong Capital Berhad reported unaudited consolidated and parent earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported net profit of MYR 15,798,000 or 6.55 sen diluted earnings per share compared to net profit of MYR 22,714,000 or 9.43 sen diluted earnings per share a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 15,290,000 against MYR 16,975,000 for the same period a year ago. This is mainly due to lower contribution from its investment banking and stockbroking segment. Revenue was MYR 63,651,000 against MYR 67,146,000 a year ago. For the six months, on consolidated basis, the company reported net profit of MYR 34,139,000 or 14.18 sen diluted earnings per share compared to net profit of MYR 47,016,000 or 19.83 sen diluted earnings per share a year ago.
