Highlight Communications AG, a strategic and financial holding company, plans, produces, and markets events and entertainment in the areas of film, sports, and music worldwide. It operates in three segments: Film, Sports-and Event-Marketing, and Other Business Activities. The Film segment produces and distributes cinema, video, and television (TV) films; and provides entertainment and media services, as well as acquires the exploitation rights of third party productions. This segment also engages in the production of fictional and non-fictional products for TV stations; distribution of theatrical, DVD/Blu-ray, and TV movies; exploitation of its video rights for in-house and licensed films; production of unusual event specials, courtroom shows, quiz shows, comedy shows, reality shows, daily talk shows, crime docu-soaps, and off-air events for private and public broadcasters; and marketing of home entertainment products in Switzerland, Austria, and other countries. The Sports-and Event-Marketing segment markets various international sports events, such as UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup. The Other Business Activities segment is involved in the marketing of Eurovision Song Contest and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as online/social gaming activities. Highlight Communications AG was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Pratteln, Switzerland. Highlight Communications AG is a subsidiary of Constantin Medien AG.

Highlight Group Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015; Confirms Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Highlight Group announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported at CHF 64.3 million, sales were down on the corresponding figure for the previous year of CHF 125.7 million, as expected. The decrease mainly stemmed from the decline in external sales in the Film segment, as no international Constantin Film productions were released in the first quarter of 2015, in contrast to the previous year. Net profit was CHF 0.6 million against CHF 1.0 million a year ago, with earnings attributable to Highlight shareholders remaining constant at CHF 0.7 million. The fact that the positive EBIT development was not reflected in the net profit for the period is largely due to currency effects, particularly with regard to the strong appreciation of the Swiss franc against the euro. EBIT was CHF 5.0 million against CHF 0.9 million a year ago. Net profit attributable to shareholders was CHF 0.7 million against CHF 0.7 million a year ago. Earnings per share were CHF 0.02 against CHF 0.02 a year ago. For 2015, the company continues to expects sales of CHF 310 million to CHF 330 million and net profit for the period attributable to shareholders of CHF 14 million to CHF 16 million.

The board of directors of Highlight Communications AG to propose the distribution of a dividend of CHF 0.17 per entitled share for fiscal year 2014 at the annual general meeting to be held on June 12, 2015. The company reported consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, the company’s sales rose year-on-year by 6.8% to CHF 412.6 million against CHF 386.2 million a year ago and were therefore higher than the guidance figure of between CHF 380 million and CHF 410 million. EBIT increased by 56.8% to CHF 29.0 million against CHF 18.5 million a year ago. Net profit attributable to shareholders was CHF 16.7 million against CHF 9.7 million a year ago. Earnings per share, which were up 76.2% year-on-year at CHF 0.37 against CHF 0.21 a year ago and also considerably higher than the forecast of CHF 0.27 to CHF 0.31. Net debt declined from CHF 107.7 million to CHF 36.5 million, resulting in gearing (net debt in relation to equity) decreasing from 100.5% to 34.1%. For the fiscal year 2015, the company is expecting consolidated sales of CHF 310 million to CHF 330 million and a consolidated net profit for the period attributable to shareholders of CHF 14 million to CHF 16 million. The sales forecast is lower than in the previous year.
