head nv (HEAD) Key Developments

HEAD NV Introduces Graphene XT

HEAD NV has introduced Graphene XT, the next stage of Graphene technology. Graphene XT makes HEAD tennis racquets even more powerful through an optimized weight distribution resulting in a faster racquet and a faster game. HEAD first introduced the innovative Graphene technology in 2013. With its benefits in mind, the technology has been re-engineered to specifically address the needs of the modern, much faster game. The updated technology Graphene XT now features a 30% stronger material structure that has been engineered to optimize the racquet's weight distribution to where players need it most. The concept is based on simple physics: the faster an object is supposed to move, the lighter it has to be. With this in mind, HEAD engineers used Graphene XT's stronger material structure to make HEAD racquets up to 20% lighter compared to a conventional racquet yet with the equivalent swing weight. Now, players have a faster racquet but with the same weight to put behind the ball. The Graphene XT technology is available with the introduction of the new Graphene XT SPEED racquet line, which combines the improved technology with an iconic new design.

HEAD NV Introduces Adaptive String Pattern for Racquets

HEAD NV has introduced Adaptive String Pattern, or ASP, for racquets. ASP allows players to change the string pattern of their racquet and play with either more spin or more control when the situation and playing style calls for it. As a general rule, strings that are closer together allow for more control, while an increase in spacing allows the strings to bite into the ball more easily, generating more spin. With the integration of ASP, players no longer have to choose one or the other: by simply exchanging the racquet's grommet strips players can easily switch between the 16/16 pattern for more spin or the 16/19 pattern for more control. This new level of customization allows players to literally change their game - anytime. The Adaptive String Pattern will be introduced with the HEAD Graphene XT SPEED racquet models Rev Pro and MP A this November while the Graphene XT INSTINCT Rev Pro will follow in January 2015. Racquets are pre-installed with the 16/16 pattern, with the 16/19 set attached. All grommet strips are available as spare parts as well.
