Hamilton Bancorp, Inc. operates as a holding company for the Hamilton Bank that provides a range of banking services primarily to small and middle-market businesses, and middle-income individuals. Its deposit products include certificate of deposit accounts, money market accounts, savings accounts, NOW accounts, and individual retirement accounts, as well as noninterest-bearing demand accounts. The company’s loan products comprise one- to four-family residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, commercial business loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, and construction loans; and consumer loans consisting of loans secured by deposits and automobile loans. In addition, it invests in securities, which consist primarily of the U.S. government agency, municipal, and corporate bond obligations, mortgage-backed securities, and collateralized mortgage obligations issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government-sponsored enterprises, as well as equity securities of government-sponsored enterprises. The company serves customers through a network of four full-service banking offices located in Baltimore City, Maryland; and the Maryland counties of Baltimore and Anne Arundel. It serves employment sectors, including services, manufacturing, wholesale/retail trade, federal and local government, health care facilities, and finance related employment. The company was founded in 1915 and is headquartered in Towson, Maryland.

Hamilton Bancorp, Inc. and Hamilton Bank Announce the Appointment of Joseph J. Bouffard as a Director

Hamilton Bancorp, Inc. announced that on January 20, 2015, Joseph J. Bouffard was appointed as a director of the company and its subsidiary, Hamilton Bank. Mr. Bouffard, age 65, served as President and Chief Executive Officer of BCSB Bancorp, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Baltimore County Savings Bank, from 2006 until his retirement in February 2014. Bouffard joins seven other board members currently overseeing the community bank's financial and operational success. With more than 25 years of experience working for Baltimore-based community financial institutions and more than 15 years serving as president for area community banks, Bouffard has extensive ties to the Baltimore banking industry. Most recently, Bouffard served as president and CEO of Baltimore County Savings Bank for eight years before resigning in December 2014. Currently, Bouffard serves as board member and chairman of the compensation committee of Maryland Financial Bank and is an active member of the membership committee for the American Bankers Association.
