The company was formerly known as Global Hyatt Corporation and changed its name to Hyatt Hotels Corporation in June 2009. Hyatt Hotels Corporation was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Songy Highroads, LLC and Aimbridge Hospitality have announced the opening of Hyatt Place Washington, DC/Downtown/K Street. Situated in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., the hotel is located at 1522 K Street NW, just two blocks from the White House. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous tourist attractions, including the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Institution, National Mall, and countless memorials and museums. Hyatt Place Washington, D.C./Downtown/K Street is under the leadership of General Manager Kevin Varr and Director of Sales Duncan Wall. In his role, Varr is directly responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including overseeing the hotel's associates and ensuring guests encounter the purposeful service for which Hyatt Place is known. Wall is responsible for providing sales service and support to travelers and meeting planners frequenting the Washington, D.C. area.

Hyatt Announces Plans for Two New Hotels in Saudi Arabia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into an agreement with Abdulelah Mohammed Ali Maghrabi Commercial Est. for a Hyatt Place hotel and a Hyatt House hotel in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The hotels will be within one mile of each other and will be designed by Dubai-based Samuel Creations. Hyatt Place Jeddah/Medina Road and Hyatt House Jeddah/Sari Street will join the luxurious Park Hyatt Jeddah Marina, Club and Spa and the recently opened Hyatt Place Dubai/Al Rigga. Hyatt Place Jeddah/Medina Road: Due to open in the second quarter of 2017, Hyatt Place Jeddah/Medina Road will be centrally located on Medina Road, one of Jeddah's main arteries, with connections to Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport and the historic downtown. Hyatt Place Jeddah/Medina Road will offer 182 guestrooms, in addition to a number of food and beverage options, including complimentary hot breakfast for guests, the 24/7 Gallery Menu serving made-to-order entrees and appetizers around the clock, and a full service restaurant. The hotel will also offer more than 2,400 square feet (225 square meters) of meeting and event space. Hyatt Place Jeddah/Medina Road is one of a number of Hyatt Place hotels under development in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Hyatt Place Dubai/Baniyas Square, which is expected to open in August 2015. Hyatt House Jeddah/Sari Street: Due to open in the fourth quarter of 2016, Hyatt House Jeddah/Sari Street will be located in the Al Faysaliayah District, in close proximity to Sari and Thaliay Streets, which connect to the Corniche, Jeddah's coastal resort area. The hotel will offer 104 residentially inspired upscale den guestrooms, studio and one-bedroom Kitchen Suites, in addition to more than 1,000 square feet (100 square meters) of meeting space. The hotel will also offer a restaurant, prayer room and fitness center. Hyatt House Jeddah/Sari Street will be the first Hyatt House hotel to open in the GCC.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation Appoints Steven Dominguez as Vice President of Brand Experience

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that Steven Dominguez has been selected as vice president of brand experience for the Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Hyatt Zilara, and Hyatt Ziva brands. Dominguez will be responsible for the brand development and management of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, the company’s select service and extended stay brands, as well as Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva, the company’s all inclusive brands. He will report directly to Sandra Cordova Micek, Hyatt’s senior vice president, global brands. Dominguez, who has more than 20 years of brand experience, joins Hyatt from Starbucks Coffee Company where he held a number of roles in brand management, most recently as director of channel brand management, Asia Pacific. Prior to Starbucks, he held marketing leadership roles at JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo, in addition to senior marketing roles at The Coca-Cola Company.
