GTBank Partners Etisalat On Retail Banking Solution

As part of efforts to improve savings culture and enhance under-banked individuals operate an account, Guaranty Trust Bank, has partnered with Etisalat, in Nigeria to create GTEasySavers, a savings account which enables individuals to achieve financial goals while operating a regular bank account via mobile phones. The synergy from both sectors will enhance service delivery and offer customers, unparalleled lifestyle with loyalty benefits. Registered subscribers of Etisalat network can conveniently open a GTEasySavers account by simply dialing a USSD short code -737*0# via their mobile phones, and a ten digit GTBank account number is sent via SMS immediately. Funding of the account can be done by Cash deposits at Etisalat Experience Centers and GTBank branches; electronic transfers from other bank accounts; Cash Deposit ATMs at GTBank branches and GT Express Agent locations. The GTEasySavers account operates like a regular bank account and is in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria's financial inclusion strategy for the country. Transaction limits on the account is pegged at CBN's Tier 1 KYC status limits of NGN 20,000 for single deposits and maximum cumulative of NGN 200,000 account balance at any point in time. Benefits for account holders include free airtime, higher interest rates on savings and quarterly rewards.

Guaranty Trust Bank Plc reported unaudited group and parent company earnings results for the three months ended March 31, 2015. For the three months, the company reported Group net interest income of NGN 39,163 million compared to NGN 34,738 million a year ago. Net fee and commission income was NGN 11,566 million compared to NGN 11,730 million a year ago. Profit before income tax was NGN 32,653 million compared to NGN 28,006 million a year ago. Profit for the period from continuing operations was NGN 26,564 million compared to NGN 23,110 million a year ago. Profit for the period was NGN 26,564 million compared to NGN 23,110 million a year ago. Profit attributable to the equity holders of the parent company was NGN 26,372 million compared to NGN 97,997 million a year ago. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc Announces Management Changes

Guaranty Trust Bank plc announced the retirement of the current Chairman Mr. Egbert Ulogo Imomoh at the end of the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the Bank holding on March 31, 2015. In line with the well-defined succession plan of the Bank, the Board of Directors of the Bank has appointed Mrs. Osaretin Afusat Demuren as Chairman to take over from Mr. Imomoh upon his retirement. Mrs. Demuren had a successful career with the Central Bank of Nigeria which spanned over 33 years, during which she served as Director, Trade and Exchange Department and was deployed to serve as the Director, Human Resources Department in 2004; a position which she held until her retirement from the Central Bank of Nigeria in December 2009. Mrs. Demuren joined the Board of Guaranty Trust Bank plc in April, 2013. She served as a member of the Board Risk Management Committee from April 2013 and became the Chairman of the Committee in July, 2014.
