The company’s principal products include a line of men's and women's fashion watches and jewelry, handbags, small leather goods, belts, sunglasses, soft accessories, and selected apparel. It offers its products under its proprietary brands, such as FOSSIL, MICHELE, RELIC, SKAGEN, and ZODIAC, as well as under the licensed brands, including ADIDAS, ARMANI EXCHANGE, BURBERRY, DIESEL, DKNY, EMPORIO ARMANI, KARL LAGERFELD, MARC BY MARC JACOBS, MICHAEL KORS, and TORY BURCH. The company sells its products through department stores, specialty retail stores, specialty watch and jewelry stores, company-owned retail and outlet stores, mass market stores, e-commerce sites, licensed and franchised FOSSIL retail stores, and retail concessions, as well as sells its products on airlines and cruise ships. As of January 3, 2015, it owned and operated 153 retail stores and 143 outlet stores located in the United States, as well as 197 retail stores and 100 outlet stores internationally. The company was formerly known as Fossil, Inc. and changed its name to Fossil Group, Inc. in May 2013. Fossil Group, Inc. was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Richardson, Texas.

Fossil Group, Inc. Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended July 4, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Third Quarter and Year 2015

Fossil Group, Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended July 4, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $740.0 million against $773.8 million a year ago. Operating income was $70.4 million against $84.8 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $79.7 million against $79.8 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the company $54.6 million or $1.12 per diluted share against $52.5 million or $0.98 per diluted share a year ago. In the second quarter of fiscal 2015, the translation impact from the strengthening of the U.S. dollar negatively impacted net sales. For the quarter, the generated operating cash flow of $78 million compared to $59 million a year ago. It invested $60 million in capital expenditures. For the six months, the company reported net sales of $1,465.1 million against $1,550.4 million a year ago. Operating income was $126.6 million against $189.5 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $138.9 million against $180.4 million a year ago. Net income attributable to the company $92.7 million or $1.87 per diluted share against $118.9 million or $2.20 per diluted share a year ago. For fiscal 2015, the company continues to expect that its results will be significantly negatively impacted by foreign currency changes as well as restructuring charges, which were recorded in the first half of the fiscal year. For fiscal 2015, the company now expects: net sales to decrease in the range of 8.0% to 4.0%; operating margin in a range of 10.5% to 11.5%; diluted earnings per share in a range of $4.80 to $5.60. For fiscal 2015, adjusted guidance is: net sales to be in the range of a 1.0% decrease to a 3.0% increase; operating margin in a range of 14.0% to 15.0%; diluted earnings per share in a range of $6.20 to $7.00. For the third quarter of fiscal 2015, the company expects: net sales to decrease in the range of 15.0% to 10.0%; operating margin in a range of 9.5% to 11.0%; diluted earnings per share in a range of $1.03 to $1.28. For the third quarter of fiscal 2015, adjusted guidance is: net sales to decrease in the range of 8.0% to 3.0%; operating margin in a range of 13.5% to 15.0%; diluted earnings per share in a range of $1.45 to $1.70.
