Freedom Foods Group Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the six months ended December 31, 2014. For the period, the company’s net sales revenues were AUD 55,528,000 against AUD 51,273,000 a year ago. EBDITA (operating) was AUD 6,319,000 against AUD 6,406,000 a year ago. EBITA (operating) was AUD 4,777,000 against AUD 5,117,000 a year ago. Pre-tax profit (operating) was AUD 4,431,000 against AUD 5,292,000 a year ago. Pre-tax profit (reported) was AUD 57,399,000 against AUD 5,562,000 a year ago. Net profit (operating) was AUD 3,102,000 against AUD 4,130,000 a year ago. Net profit (reported) was AUD 55,190,000 or 2.04 cents per diluted EPS against AUD 4,004,000 or 2.77 cents per diluted EPS a year ago. Net cash flow from operations was negative AUD 1.9 million, reflecting a material increase in working capital requirements associated with inventory build for new product launches early in the second half of fiscal year 2015 and seafood inventory. The capital expenditure of AUD 16.7 million comprised commitments to expansion at Freedom's Leeton facility, expansion of packaging capabilities at Shepparton, a deposit paid for la and proposed building works at Ingleburn and a deposit paid for land at Shepparton. The company provided earnings guidance for the second half of fiscal year 2015 and full fiscal year 2016. The company expects a substantial improvement in operating cash generation, compared to the first half. Overall the company anticipates growth in sales and profits over the remainder of fiscal year 2015, with the benefits of its multi stage capital investment programme delivering increased profits and returns from fiscal year 2016 and beyond.

Freedom Foods Group Limited Signs Memorandum of Understanding with New Hope Group

Freedom Foods Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's New Hope Group to develop a long term supply of milk with the establishment of new large scale farms in southeast Australia. The farms will be managed by the Perich Group, which holds a stake of about 60% in Freedom Foods. New Hope will be a core investor and partner, while continuing to market and distribute dairy products into China through New Hope Dairy. New Hope Group has established an investment fund of up to $500 million to be used in the development of agricultural and food processing in Australia, with a substantial proportion to be invested in the dairy sector.
