This segment offers its products under the Nature’s Own, Wonder, Whitewheat, Tastykake, Bluebird, Cobblestone Mill, Merita, Home Pride, Butternut, Mary Jane & Friends, ButterKrust, Evangeline Maid, Captain John Derst’s, Barowsky’s, Mi Casa, Frestillas, Dandee, Country Hearth, Natural Grain, Leo’s Foods, and Juarez, as well as markets franchised and licensed brands, such as Sunbeam, Roman Meal, Bunny, Holsum, Aunt Hattie’s, and Country Kitchen brands. It operates 38 bakeries, as well as sells its products through DSD route delivery system to retail and foodservice clients in the New England, Florida, and California. The Warehouse Delivery segment produces snack cakes, breads, rolls, and frozen breads for national retail, foodservice, vending, and co-pack clients. It operates 8 bakeries. This segment markets its products under the Mrs. Freshley’s, European Bakers, Broad Street Bakery, Leo’s Foods, Juarez, and Tesoritos brands. The company was formerly known as Flowers Industries and changed its name to Flowers Foods, Inc. in 2001. Flowers Foods, Inc. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Thomasville, Georgia.

Flowers Foods, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

Flowers Foods, Inc. announced two executive transitions in the company's manufacturing leadership, effective immediately. Michael A. Beaty, formerly executive vice president of supply chain, will retire in spring of 2015. Until then, he will serve as executive vice president and oversee special projects for the company. Robert L. Benton, Jr., formerly senior vice president of manufacturing and operations support, has been named senior vice president and chief manufacturing officer. As senior vice president and chief manufacturing officer, Benton oversees all production facilities and associated capital expenditures, leading the company's manufacturing and engineering teams. Benton is responsible for major capital projects, including new bakery start-ups and expansions, which are an area of focus for Flowers Foods. He also oversees regulatory/quality assurance and safety/environmental affairs.

George E. Deese to Retire as Flowers Foods, Inc.'s Executive Chairman and Serve as Non-Executive Chairman

Flowers Foods, Inc. announced that consistent with the company's management succession plan established by the board of directors five years ago, George E. Deese, will retire as executive chairman of the board at the end of 2014. Deese will become non-executive chairman of the board and will continue to be involved in the strategic direction of the company. The announcement came following a board meeting on Nov. 21, 2014. Allen L. Shiver will continue to serve as president and CEO. Shiver has been with the company for 36 years and was elected president in 2010 and CEO in 2013 when Deese moved to the position of executive chairman. Deese joined Flowers' sales department in 1964 and was successively promoted to higher levels of responsibility. He served for almost 20 years as president and chief operating officer of Flowers Bakeries, the company's core business.
