Athens Water Supply and Sewerage S.A. provides integrated water and sewerage services in Greece. The company engages in pumping, desalination, processing, storage, transfer, distribution, and management of water; and collection, transfer, process, storage, management, and disposal of wastewater treatment products. It operates four units of water exploitation and refining; waste water treatment plants in Metamorfosi Attikis and Psyttalia island; three electrical and thermal co-production units consisting of one natural gas and two biogas units; and four small hydroelectric plants, as well as 8,446 kilometers of water supply distribution network and 6,000 kilometers of sewerage network. The company serves its customers through a network of approximately 2,060,000 water meters and 9,500 kilometers of water pipes. Athens Water Supply and Sewerage S.A. was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.

Eydap Reports Earnings Results for the Nine Months of 2014

Eydap reported earnings results for the nine months of 2014. Turnover in the first nine months of 2014 amounted to EUR 246 million from EUR 264 million in the first nine months of 2013, affected mainly by the implementation of the new tariff with lower charges for the consumers, within the frame of company's social policy, and to the decrease of the water demand. The operating cost before depreciations, decreased to EUR 173 million in the first nine months of 2014 from EUR 179 million in the corresponding period of 2013. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to EUR 74 million compared to euro 83 million in the first nine months of 2013, while the earnings before taxes of the company amounted to EUR 58 million against EUR 64 million in first nine months of 2013. The after tax earnings in the first nine months of 2014 amounted to EUR 41 million compared to EUR 75 million in the corresponding period of 2013.

Eydap Announces Earnings Results for the First Half of 2014

Eydap announced earnings results for the first half of 2014. For the period, the company reported turnover of EUR 151.8 million against EUR 161 million in the first half of 2013, decreased by 5.7%. This drop was mainly due to the implementation of the new tariff with lower charges for the consumers and to the decrease of the water demand. Company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to EUR 32.6 million compared to EUR 39.1 million in the first half of 2013, decreased by EUR 6.5 million, while the earnings before taxes of the company amounted to EUR 22.6 million against EUR 21.6 million in first half of 2013, increased by 4.9% despite the drop in the turnover, due to the improvement of the net financial income.

EYDAP Could Be Privatized

Athens Water Supply and Sewerage S.A. (ATSE:EYDAP) may still be privatized. Plans to privatize water utilities stalled last month after the Supreme Court considered privatization of EYDAP unconstitutional. Following this decision, the transfer of a 34.03% share of the EYDAP's stock holding to HRADF has been cancelled and the privatization authority has publicly admitted that it is reconsidering the tender despite still holding 27.3% of EYDAP.
