Eaton Releases Enhanced End of Row Doors for Improved Management of Airflow Within Data Center Aisle Containment Systems

Eaton announced the release of enhanced End of Row Doors for improved management of airflow within data center aisle containment systems. The new door configurations are designed to help minimize the remixing of hot or cold air in a wider range of data center applications, helping increase the efficiency of cooling systems to reduce costs and extend the life of hardware. Industry studies indicate that an estimated 60% of the cool air supplied to traditional data centers is wasted because it bypasses the intended equipment and returns directly to the hot air intake of cooling systems. Eatons new End of Row Doors help address this challenge by taking a cost-effective and fully integrated approach to improving airflow containment and cooling efficiency. Eatons new End of Row Doors are available in five styles with two heights and varying widths to meet the needs of nearly any data center environment. The doors are also compatible with Eatons S-Series and Paramount Enclosure Systems as well as most other manufacturer’s enclosures. Providing single-sliding, dual-sliding, single-swing, dual-swing and cafe style doors, the solution range is also designed to meet the exact preferences of data center managers and designers. Each door is tested to support reliable closure automatically and consistently under typical data center air pressures. Each End of Row Door is designed standard with a transparent, impact resistant, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 94 V-0 window material for robust fire protection. The enhanced doors also include a range of features designed to simplify installation, helping customers increase the speed of deployment. Eaton reduced the number of complex parts and many components are pre-assembled.

H5 Data Centers Selects Eaton to Help Increase Efficiency and Maintain High Availability in Denver Colocation Facility

Eaton announced an agreement to deliver integrated power management solutions to H5 Data Centers' high-efficiency colocation facility in Denver. H5 Data Centers will deploy Eaton's Power Xpert 9395 uninterruptible power systems (UPSs), busway and switchgear solutions designed to increase data center reliability and efficiency, while also reducing costs and extending business value to customers across its 300,000 square-foot colocation campus. Customers at H5 Data Centers' Denver colocation facility include some of the world's larger online travel and ecommerce sites. This underscores the importance of delivering the high standards in reliability and efficiency. Building on the company's 15-year track record in providing 100%, continuous uptime for its customers, H5 Data Centers will utilize Eaton's power management and distribution solutions as a part of its overall efficiency upgrades due to be complete by the end of the year, helping to increase protection and reliability for its growing customer base. Eaton's 9395 UPS provides backup power and scalable runtimes to support H5 Data Centers' expanding customer demands and safeguards important data processing. The 9395 UPS operates at up to 99% efficiency utilizing Eaton's groundbreaking Energy Saver System, and has a built-in advanced LCD touchscreen to assist in real-time monitoring and management. To further enhance electrical reliability, efficiency and scalability, H5 Data Centers will implement Eaton's Pow-R-Way III busway and Magnum DS switchgear. Eaton's busway efficiently distributes power in mission-critical facilities and is SMaRT certified for sustainability. Additionally, the busway greatly reduces installation time compared to conduit and wire alternatives, and can later be added to or changed to reduce material costs and enhance power distribution flexibility. Eaton's Magnum DS switchgear is designed to provide centralized control and protection of high-density power systems in a limited space, enabling H5 Data Centers to better utilize valuable data center floor space with revenue supporting equipment.
