Ericsson provides telecommunications equipment and services to mobile and fixed network operators worldwide. It operates through four segments: Networks, Global Services, Support Solutions, and Modems. The Networks segment delivers products and solutions for mobile access, Internet protocol (IP) and transport networks, and core networks. This segment offers radio access solutions; IP and transport solutions; transmission/backhaul solutions comprising microwave and optical transmission solutions for mobile and fixed networks; switching and IP multimedia subsystem solutions; and operations support systems, as well as supports operators’ management of existing networks. The Global Services segment delivers managed services, such as services for designing, building, operating, and managing networks or solutions; maintenance; network sharing solutions; shared solutions; and managed services of IT environments, as well as provides broadcast services. This segment also offers product-related services, including services to expand, upgrade, restructure, or migrate networks; network-rollout services; customer support; and network optimization services. In addition, it provides consulting and systems integration services comprising technology and operational consulting, integration of multi-vendor equipment, design and integration, and transforming programs; and industry specific solutions. The Support Solutions segment offers operations support systems; business support systems that provide revenue management, mediation, and customer care solutions; television (TV) solutions for the creation, management, and delivery of TV experiences on any device over any network; and M-Commerce solutions for money transfer. The Modems segment designs, develops, and sells LTE multimode thin modem solutions for smartphone and tablet manufacturers. The company has a strategic partnership agreement with OJSC MegaFon. Ericsson was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ericsson Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2014

Ericsson announced consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year 2014. For the quarter, the company’s sales were SEK 68.0 billion compared with SEK 67.0 billion a year ago. A growth of 1% Year over Year and 18%. Operating income improved to SEK 6.3 billion compared to the SEK 9.1 billion for the same quarter year ago. net income was SEK 4.2 billon or SEK 1.29 per share compared to the SEK 6.4 billion or SEK 1.97 per diluted share for the same quarter year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was SEK 8.6 billion compared to the SEK 14.6 billion for the same quarter year ago. For the full year, the company reported sales were SEK 228.0 billion compared with SEK 227.4 billion a year ago. Flat year over year. Sales, adjusted for comparable units and currency, decreased by -2%. Operating income was SEK 16.8 billion compared with 17.8 billion. With an operating margin of 7.4% to 7.8%. Gross margin improved due to a higher share of capacity business, offset by increased operating expenses and currency hedge losses. Cash flow from operating activities was SEK 18.7 billion compared with 17.4 billion for the previous year. Cash conversion was 84%, above the target of 70%. Net income was SEK 11.1 billion or SEK 3.54 per diluted share compared to the SEK 12.2 billion or SEK 3.69 per diluted share for the previous year.

Ericsson AB Announces Executive Changes

Ericsson AB has announced the departure of Johan Wibergh as executive vice president, or EVP, and head of segment networks. Wibergh joined Ericsson in 1996 and has since held a number of executive positions within the company. Although stepping down from his position immediately, Johan Wibergh will remain available to Ericsson until April 30, 2015 when he formally leaves the company. Segment Networks consists of Business Unit Cloud & IP and Business Unit Radio. Effective January 15, 2015, Hans Vestberg will, in addition to his role as President and CEO, assume the role as Head of Segment Networks.

TeliaSonera Selects Ericsson to Manage Field Operations in Sweden

TeliaSonera has renewed and expanded its contract with Ericsson, that was initially signed back in 2010. Ericsson will now perform field operation services for the operator's fixed and mobile networks. As a result of contract extension, Ericsson will also expand its footprint into eight new regions which corresponds to a growth of 200%. Ericsson will deliver Field Services for fixed and mobile network. This includes work such as installation, repair and delivery of new and existing customer connections, both in the passive and active network. Increased network complexity and performance expectations puts high demands on the operators to run their operations in a cost-efficient manner while providing world-class experience to their customers. Ericsson has invested more than USD 1 billion in tools, methods and processes in order to help its customers increase network efficiency.
