The company’s Networks segment delivers products and solutions for mobile access, Internet protocol (IP) and transmission networks, core networks, and cloud. This segment offers radio access solutions; IP routing and transport solutions; transmission/backhaul solutions comprising microwave and optical transmission solutions for mobile and fixed networks; IP multimedia subsystem solutions; and operations support systems, as well as supports operators’ management of existing networks. Its Global Services segment delivers managed services, such as services for designing, building, operating, and managing networks or solutions; maintenance; network sharing solutions; shared solutions; and managed services of IT environments, as well as provides broadcast and media services. This segment also offers product-related services, including services to expand, upgrade, restructure, or migrate networks; network-rollout services; customer support; and network optimization services. In addition, it provides consulting and systems integration services comprising technology and operational consulting, integration of multi-vendor equipment, design and integration, and transforming programs; and industry specific solutions. The company’s Support Solutions segment offers operations support systems; business support systems that provide revenue management, mediation, and customer care solutions; television (TV) solutions for the creation, management, and delivery of TV experiences on any device over any network; and M-Commerce solutions for money transfer. It serves telecom operators and government, as well as media, transport, and automotive industries. Ericsson was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ericsson Announces New Release of Enterprise-Class Software Solution

Ericsson has announced that it is introducing the new release of the enterprise-class software solution, Ericsson Content Management System. Ericsson Content Management System integrates seamlessly with media management, media processing and other broadcast infrastructure to provide a comprehensive platform for the end-to-end management of content operations for the television industry, including content owners, content aggregators, broadcasters and Pay TV operators. The solution provides agile throughput performance from ingestion to distribution and a content library that scales up to 10 million titles for effectively managing assets across all screens under one centralized management system. It is also available as an option in off-the-shelf configurations for quicker time-to-market and reduced CapEx. The latest release will be available in May 2015.

Ericsson to Collaborate with Scania and KTH to Explore Transport Solutions

Ericsson has announced that it will collaborate with Scania and Royal Institute of Technology in their Integrated Transport Research Lab, or ITRL, to explore the transport solutions of the future. The joint initiative, which will explore areas such as autonomous buses and improved systems for traffic management, forms part of the "5G for Sweden" program that was announced in March. The partnership will feature technology experts from Ericsson, leading scientists from KTH and industry experts from Scania who together will jointly develop ideas and proposals to harness technology to create the transport systems of the future.
