The company’s Networks segment delivers products and solutions for mobile access, Internet protocol (IP) and transmission networks, core networks, and cloud. This segment offers radio access solutions; IP routing and transport solutions; transmission/backhaul solutions comprising microwave and optical transmission solutions for mobile and fixed networks; IP multimedia subsystem solutions; and operations support systems, as well as supports operators’ management of existing networks. Its Global Services segment delivers managed services, such as services for designing, building, operating, and managing networks or solutions; maintenance; network sharing solutions; shared solutions; and managed services of IT environments, as well as provides broadcast and media services. This segment also offers product-related services, including services to expand, upgrade, restructure, or migrate networks; network-rollout services; customer support; and network optimization services. In addition, it provides consulting and systems integration services comprising technology and operational consulting, integration of multi-vendor equipment, design and integration, and transforming programs; and industry specific solutions. The company’s Support Solutions segment offers operations support systems; business support systems that provide revenue management, mediation, and customer care solutions; television (TV) solutions for the creation, management, and delivery of TV experiences on any device over any network; and M-Commerce solutions for money transfer. It serves telecom operators and government, as well as media, transport, and automotive industries. Ericsson was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Etisalat has signed a cooperation agreement with Ericsson to establish its first Radio Dot in Egypt, which enables high quality services such as voice over, HD voice and mobile broadband. This is the first implementation of its kind in Egypt and demonstrates the solution's capabilities catering to the fast-growing demand for data traffic in Egypt.

Saudi Telecom Company Chooses Ericsson to Provide Evolved IP Network Solution

Saudi Telecom Company, or STC, has chosen Ericsson to provide an evolved IP network solution. To deal with the fast-growing demand for mobile broadband in Saudi Arabia, Ericsson will deploy its Evolved IP network:Smart Services Routers (SSR),MINI-LINK microwave transmission links using MINI-LINK PT 6020 for E-band and MINI-LINK PT and TN for traditional frequency bands. The deal also includes associated software and services. The result will be a high-capacity, future-proof mobile transport network that enables STC to meet the stringent requirements of next-generation mobile networks that also offers opportunities to generate new revenues while keeping operational expenses low.

Ericsson Launches 5G Collaborations with King's College London and Technische Universitat Dresden

Ericsson has announced new collaborations with King's College London and Technische Universitat Dresden (TU Dresden). The collective efforts will focus on 5G research, addressing both the technical implications and the societal challenges of implementing the next-generation of communications technology. The collaborations with the two universities will build on other leading European research institute and university collaborations in the 5G sphere, such as those with the Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology and Lund University in Sweden.
