Ericsson inks pact to roll out 4G services for Bharti Airtel in Delhi

Ericsson has reportedly entered into four-year pact to roll out 4G services for telecom services provider Bharti Airtel's subscribers in Delhi. This four-year agreement marks the first LTE-FDD rollout by Ericsson in Delhi. Bharti Airtel has also strengthened its partnership with Ericsson by signing a four-year agreement to expand 3G WCDMA network across 8 telecom circles in India.

Ericsson Signs OSSii License Agreements with Cisco and Netscout's Tektronix Communications

Ericsson has signed license agreements with both Cisco Systems and Tektronix Communications, under which Ericsson will license its OSS interfaces for integration with Cisco self-optimizing network (SON) products and Tektronix Communications TrueCall(R) geoanalytics platform. OSSii enables pre-verification of products for new network releases, and provides lifecycle management for interfaces. In addition, it allows both OSSii partners and third parties to support network releases without lengthy and complex integration projects. Both agreements run from August 2015 and will initially cover three years.

Ericsson Provides LTE-Advanced Three-Carrier Aggregation Solution to Swisscom

Ericsson has provided Swisscom with a fully commercial LTE-Advanced three-carrier aggregation solution combining LTE in both FDD and TDD modes. The demonstration used three carriers in two bands in a radio access network and used commercial-grade chipsets. Swisscom deployed the solution on August 18, 2015 in a Swisscom shop in Zurich, Switzerland, and plans to roll it out to subscribers in Swiss metropolitan areas by summer 2016 to coincide with three-carrier FDD/TDD smartphone availability. The combination of the three carriers in FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE will significantly enhance the future capacity of the network. The new technology will allow more users to benefit from peak data rates for downloads and uploads when using mobile internet, entertainment or enterprise services.
