Equity Residential announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of $666,371,000 compared with $633,442,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $218,171,000 compared with $199,259,000 for the same period a year ago. Income before income and other taxes, income (loss) from investments in unconsolidated entities, net gain was $107,150,000 compared with $83,359,000 for the same period a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $190,020,000 or $0.49 per diluted share compared with $81,680,000 or $0.21 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Net income available to Common Shares was $178,842,000 or $0.49 per diluted share compared with $78,099,000 or $0.22 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. FFO available to Common Shares and Units - basic and diluted was $299,359,000 or $0.79 per basic and diluted share compared with $265,635,000 or $0.71 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago. Normalized FFO was $299,893,000 or $0.79 per basic and diluted share compared with $266,691,000 or $0.71 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago. The company provided earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2015. The company has established a Normalized FFO guidance range of $0.82 to $0.86 per share for the second quarter of 2015. The difference between the company’s first quarter 2015 Normalized FFO of $0.79 per share and the midpoint of the second quarter 2015 guidance range of $0.84 per share is due primarily to: a positive impact of approximately $0.04 per share from higher same store NOI; and a positive impact of approximately $0.01 per share from lower G&A costs. The company revised earnings guidance for its full year 2015. For the full year, the company now expects to report normalized FFO per share in the range of $3.37 to $3.45 compared with $3.35 to $3.45 previous guidance for the same period.
