Enel SpA, together with its subsidiaries, operates in the electricity and gas sectors worldwide. The company generates, transmits, distributes, supplies, sells, sources, and trades in electricity; produces, transmits, and distributes gas; and provides research and development services on natural sciences and engineering; and research and testing, mining, consulting, engineering, and reinsurance services. It also engages in the analysis, design, construction, and maintenance of engineering works; and personnel administration activities, as well as offers information technology and business services; and metering, remote control, and connectivity services through power line communication. In addition, the company is involved in the construction and management of LNG regasification infrastructure; and security, telecommunication, and real estate activities. Further, it designs, constructs, and operates merchant lines; installs industrial machinery and equipment; prospects and develops hydrocarbon fields; constructs and operates storage fields; constructs and manages port infrastructure; and treats and distributes water. Additionally, the company offers public lighting systems, fuel trading and logistics, factoring, engineering and water systems, and solar panels; and engages in agro-industrial, environmental studies, and long-distance learning activities. It operates various hydroelectric, thermoelectric, nuclear, geothermal, wind, solar, biomass, and co-generation power plants with an installed capacity of approximately 90 gigawatts; and has interests in the Isarene and South East Illizi fields in Algeria, and the hydrocarbon extraction permit in Italy. The company has approximately 18 million barrels of oil equivalent of proven reserves; and 46 million barrels of oil equivalent of proven and probable reserves. It serves approximately 60 million electricity and gas customers worldwide. The company was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in Rome, Italy.

Enel In Exclusive Talks To Sell Slovenske Elektrarne To EPH

Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) started exclusive talks with Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding, a.s. to sell its 66% stake in Slovenské Elektrárne A.S. to the Czech energy company. Enel said in a statement that in coming weeks the two parties may sign a binding agreement for the sale of the stake, depending on the outcome of the talks. The sale is part of a €5 billion disposal plan to fund development at Enel. The equity value of the stake is thought to be around €800-€900 million.

Enel Confirms Planned Sale Of Slovenske Elektrarne

Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) plans to sell part of its Slovak power unit by the end of 2015. Francesco Starace, Enel Chief Executive Officer, said Enel will select a preferred bidder for its 66% stake in Slovenské Elektrárne A.S. in the next few weeks.

Enel SpA Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Half Ended June 30, 2015

Enel SpA reported consolidated earnings results for the first half ended June 30, 2015. For the period, the company reported total revenue of EUR 37,632 million against EUR 36,101 million a year ago. The rise is largely attributable to an increase in sales of fuels, gas and environmental certificates, only partially offset by a decline in sales of electricity. Operating income was EUR 5,084 million against EUR 4,980 million a year ago. Income before taxes was EUR 3,815 million against EUR 3,357 million a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was EUR 2,629 million against EUR 2,218 million a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company was EUR 1,833 million or EUR 0.19 per basic and diluted share against EUR 1,665 million or EUR 0.18 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were EUR 3,045 million against EUR 1,804 million a year ago. Investments in property, plant and equipment was EUR 2,841 million against EUR 2,275 million a year ago. Investments in intangible assets were EUR 251 million against EUR 210 million a year ago. EBITDA in the first half of 2015 amounted to EUR 7,961 million, an increase of EUR 114 million (+1.5%) on the first half of 2014. Ordinary EBITDA in the first half of 2015 amounted to EUR 7,688 million, a decrease of EUR 27 million (-0.3%) compared with the same period of 2014. Net financial debt as on June 30, 2015, was EUR 39,849 million.
