Energy Development Announces Signing of an Agreement with Anglo American for the Setting Up of Waste Coal Mine Gas Power Station at the Grosvenor Metallurgical Coal Mine

Energy Development announced the signing of an agreement with Anglo American for the setting up of a waste coal mine gas power station at the Grosvenor metallurgical coal mine. Anglo American's $1.9-billion underground long wall mine, Grosvenor will generate about five-million tones a year of export coking coal once operational in 2016. The project would have a mine life of some 30 years. According to Energy Development, the agreement with Anglo American is expected to see the company build a 21 MW power station at Grosvenor, with an initial operating term ending in 2038. It is subject to board approvals, funding and securing the necessary approvals. The proposed power station is expected to be the third to be installed by Energy Development at an Anglo American mine, with a 45 MW power station at the Grasstree mine and a 63 MW power station at the Moranbah North mine.

Energy Developments Ltd. Revises Earnings Guidance for the Fiscal Year 2015

Energy Developments Ltd. (EDL) revised earnings guidance for the fiscal year 2015. For the year, the company increased its guidance range of Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) to be between $211 to $216 million from the previous range of $205 to $210 million. This increase in EBITDA guidance comes after the company's first half-year performance and has been driven by a start to EDL's second half-year performance, and current expectations on market conditions including high summer electricity pricing events to date in Queensland, improved LGC prices to date and lower Australian dollar.

Energy Developments Limited confirmed the current guidance for the fiscal 2015 EBITDA of between $205 million to $210 million reflecting: Ongoing strong performance of EDL's Envirogen assets; improved second half of fiscal 2015 prices for LGCs and electricity prices in Queensland; recognition of revenue from the generation of ACCUs following the passing of the Australian Emissions Reduction Fund legislation; increased contribution of EDL's US and European operations to second half EBITDA given the recent weakening of the Australian dollar.
