Enbridge Inc. operates as an energy transportation and distribution company in the United States and Canada. Its Liquids Pipelines segment operates common carrier and contract crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGL), and refined products pipelines and terminals. The company’s Gas Distribution segment operates as a natural gas utility that serves residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Central and Eastern Ontario, and Northern New York State, as well as in Quebec and New Brunswick. Its Gas Pipelines, Processing and Energy Services segment has interests in natural gas pipelines, including the Vector Pipeline and transmission and gathering pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as holds an interest in Aux Sable, a natural gas fractionation and extraction facility. This segment is also involved in the renewable energy projects, such as wind, solar, and geothermal projects with a generating capacity of approximately 2,200 MW. In addition, this segment provides energy supply and marketing services to refiners, producers, and other customers; customer services, such as transportation, storage, supply management, hedging programs, and product exchanges; and natural gas supply, transportation, balancing, and storage to third parties. The company’s Sponsored Investments segment, through its 33.7% interest in Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P, transports crude oil and other liquid hydrocarbons through common carrier and feeder pipelines; and transports, gathers, processes, and markets natural gas and NGL. This segment is also involved in renewable power generation, natural gas transmission, and crude oil and liquids pipelines transportation. The company was formerly known as IPL Energy Inc. and changed its name to Enbridge Inc. in October 1998. Enbridge Inc. was founded in 1949 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Enbridge Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported earnings attributable to common shareholders from continuing operations was CAD 88 million or CAD 0.10 per diluted share against loss of CAD 271 million or CAD 0.33 per diluted share a year ago. Earnings attributable to common shareholders was CAD 88 million or CAD 0.10 per diluted share against loss of CAD 267 million or CAD 0.33 per diluted share a year ago. Adjusted earnings were CAD 409 million or CAD 0.49 per share against CAD 362 million or CAD 0.44 per share a year ago. Revenues were CAD 8,797 million against CAD 8,293 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations were CAD 316 million against loss of CAD 247 million a year ago. Cash provided by continuing operations was CAD 656 million against CAD 781 million a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment was CAD 3,127 million against CAD 2,950 million a year ago. Additions to intangible assets were CAD 55 million against CAD 75 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations were CAD 1,562 million against CAD 490 million a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment was CAD 10,524 million against CAD 8,235 million a year ago. Additions to intangible assets were CAD 208 million against CAD 212 million a year ago. Cash provided by operating activities was CAD 9,770 million against CAD 5,070 million a year ago. For the year 2015, the company expects adjusted earnings to be in the range of CAD 2.05 to CAD 2.35 per common share.
