Companhia Paranaense de Energia - COPEL engages in the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity to industrial, residential, commercial, rural, and other customers primarily in the State of Parana, Brazil. As of December 31, 2014, the company operated 18 hydroelectric plants, 1 wind plant, and 1 thermoelectric plant with a total installed capacity of 4,754.4 megawatts; and owned and operated 2,174 kilometers of transmission lines and 189,925.4 kilometers of distribution lines. It holds concessions to distribute electricity in 394 municipalities in the State of Parana and in the municipality of Porto Uniao in the State of Santa Catarina. The company also provides telecommunication services to 4,227 corporate clients, including supermarkets, universities, banks, Internet service providers, and television networks, as well as to 17,534 retail clients; and broadband Internet access to public elementary and middle schools. In addition, it supplies piped gas to 26,052 customers, including thermoelectric plants, cogeneration plants, gas stations, other businesses, and residences through a gas distribution network covering 726 kilometers in the State of Paraná. Companhia Paranaense de Energia – COPEL was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Curitiba, Brazil.

Companhia Paranaense de Energia - COPEL reported Parent Company and consolidated earnings results for the quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter on parent company basis, profit before financial results and taxes was BRL 421.252 million against BRL 501.767 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 433.968 million against BRL 536.567 million a year ago. Basic and diluted per ordinary share was BRL 1.51463 against BRL 1.87272 a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was BRL 362.212 million against BRL 292.360 million a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment was BRL 0.023 million against BRL 0.004 million a year ago. Additions to intangible was BRL 0.263 million against BRL 12.513 million a year ago. For the quarter on consolidated basis, net operating revenues were BRL 4,237.102 million against BRL 3,051.072 million a year ago. Profit before financial results and taxes were BRL 675.653 million against BRL 704.589 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 433.968 million against BRL 536.567 million a year ago.
