Element Financial Corporation reported unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported interest income and rental revenue, net was CAD 83,972,000 against CAD 37,186,000 a year ago. Net income was CAD 49,497,000 against CAD 15,836,000 a year ago. Adjusted operating income was CAD 78,390 against CAD 26,302,000 a year ago. After-tax adjusted operating income was CAD 60,442,000 against CAD 20,655,000 a year ago. After-tax pro forma diluted adjusted operating income per share was CAD 0.20 against CAD 0.09 a year ago. Net income per share was CAD 0.16 against CAD 0.07 a year ago. Book value per share was CAD 10.20. Income before taxes was CAD 64,458,000 against CAD 21,082,000 a year ago. Before tax, ROA remained in the range of 3.3% versus 3.36% in the first quarter when fee income typically shows seasonal strength. Increased leverage helped push pretax ROE to 11% threshold in first quarter versus 10.93% in fourth quarter. The company announced that it expects to generate CAD 1.05 of operating EPS during the year and exit 2015.
