Airbus Group is engaged in the manufacture and sale of commercial aircraft, civil and military helicopters, commercial space launch vehicles, missiles, military aircraft, satellites, defence systems, and defence electronics; and rendering of related services worldwide. The company operates in three divisions: Airbus; Airbus Defence & Space; and Airbus Helicopters. The Airbus division is engaged in the development, manufacturing, marketing, and sale of commercial jet aircraft of approximately 100 seats; and regional turboprop aircraft and aircraft components, as well as provides aircraft conversion and related services. The Airbus Defence & Space division is involved in the development, manufacturing, marketing, and sale of military transport aircraft and special mission aircraft and related services; missiles systems, military combat aircraft and training aircraft; and satellites, orbital infrastructures and launchers. This division also provides defence electronics and global security market solutions, such as integrated systems for global border security and secure communications solutions and logistics; training, testing, engineering and other related services; and space related services. The Airbus Helicopters is engaged in the development, manufacturing, marketing, and sale of civil and military helicopters; and provision of helicopter related services. The company was formerly known as European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS N.V. and changed its name to Airbus Group in January 2014. Airbus Group was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Blagnac, France.

Airbus Group announced order for up to nine Airbus A330-200 aircraft placed by International Airfinance Corporation. The agreement also includes options for an additional four A330-200 aircraft. Based on list price, the contract value for International Airfinance Corporationâ s (IAFC) transaction covering five Airbus A330-200 aircraft and four options is approximately $2 billion.

Airbus Helicopters Launches Upgraded EC135 T3/P3 with Aiut Alpin Dolomites

Airbus Group NV has launched a new twin-engine rotorcraft with the operational start-up of Airbus Helicopters's upgraded EC135 T3/P3 of Aiut Alpin Dolomites, a northern Italy-based Alpine mountain rescue service. Aiut Alpin Dolomites' operations benefit from Airbus Helicopters' enhancements incorporated in this latest variant of the versatile EC135 family, which include significant power reserves for increased safety margins during flight and while maneuvering; an improved flight envelope, especially in hot-and-high environments; and an increased maximum takeoff weight of 2,980 kg. The upgraded EC135 is available in two versions with its corresponding upgraded engine options: Turbomeca's Arrius 2B2 "Plus" for the EC135 T3; and Pratt & Whitney Canada's PWC 206B3 for the EC135 P3.

Finnair Oyj Announces New Agreement with Airbus Group NV for Eight Additional A350-900s Aircraft

Finnair Oyj has signed an agreement with Airbus Group NV for eight additional A350-900s aircraft. Finnair was the first airline to select the A350 XWB and will be the airline in autumn 2015 to receive the all new Airbus Widebody. Finnair's A350 XWBs will seat 297 passengers in a two class configuration. The aircraft will be deployed on Finnair's long-haul routes to Asia and America. This agreement brings the total committed order to 19 A350-900s. The A350 XWB was designed above all for passengers' comfort and well-being and will provide Finnair's passengers with an excellent flight experience with the most advanced cabin with wider seats in both business and economy class. The A350 XWB is the latest addition to the Airbus Widebody product line. Offering its customers a 25% reduction in fuel-burn, the all-new mid-size long-range A350 XWB Family aircraft can seat up to 369 passengers in a typical two-class layout. The A350 has carbon fibre fuselage and wings and sets new standards in terms of passenger experience, operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. At the end of November 2014, the A350 XWB had won 775 orders from 40 customers worldwide.
