Eni SpA engages in the oil and gas, electricity generation and sale, petrochemicals, oilfield services construction, and engineering industries. The company is involved in the oil and natural gas exploration, and field development and production activities, as well as liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations in 40 countries, including Italy, Libya, Egypt, Norway, the United Kingdom, Angola, Congo, Nigeria, the United States, Kazakhstan, Russia, Algeria, Australia, Venezuela, Iraq, Ghana, and Mozambique. It also supplies, trades, and markets gas, LNG, and electricity; transports international gas; supplies crude oil; and refines and markets petroleum products at retail and wholesale markets primarily in Italy and rest of Europe. In addition, the company engages in the generation of electricity; commodity risk management and asset-backed trading activities; and production of various chemicals, including olefins and aromatics, basic intermediate products, polyethylene, polystyrenes, and elastomers in Italy and Western Europe. Further, it provides a range of engineering, drilling, and construction services to the oil and gas industry, and downstream refining and petrochemical sectors, primarily in the field of EPC contracts offshore and onshore for the construction and installation of fixed platforms, sub-sea pipe laying and floating production systems, and onshore industrial complexes. Eni SpA was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Rome, Italy.

Eni SpA Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Half Ended June 30, 2015

Eni SpA reported consolidated earnings results for the first half ended June 30, 2015. For the period, the company reported revenues of EUR 45,979 million compared to EUR 56,556 million a year ago. Operating profit was EUR 1,945 million compared to EUR 5,901 million a year ago. Profit before income taxes was EUR 1,817 million compared to EUR 6,029 million a year ago. Net profit attributable to the company was EUR 591 million or EUR 0.16 per basic and diluted share compared to EUR 1,961 million or EUR 0.54 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was EUR 5,678 million compared to EUR 5,740 million a year ago. Investing in tangible assets was EUR 5,753 million compared to EUR 4,752 million a year ago. Investing in intangible assets was EUR 484 million compared to EUR 772 million a year ago. In the first half of 2015, excluding Saipem losses, the company reported adjusted operating profit of EUR 2.91 billion (down 51%) and adjusted net profit of EUR 1.05 billion (down 47%).

Eni Mulls Stake Sale In Mozambique and Eygpt

Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) is seeking to sell stake another 15% stake in gas discovery in Mozambique. Claudio Descalzi, Chief Executive of Eni SpA, did not rule out also selling a stake in the Egypt find. Claudio Descalzi said, “Its an open door to give value and solidity to Enis balance sheet.” Eni SpA is open to selling a stake in its supergiant Zohr gas field discovery off of Egypt, Claudio Descalzi said, as the state-controlled energy company looks for funds to bankroll development without sacrificing dividends.
