Dover Corporation manufactures and sells a range of equipment and components, specialty systems, and support services in the United States. The company operates in four segments: Energy, Engineered Systems, Fluids, and Refrigeration & Food Equipment. The Energy segment provides solutions and services for the production and processing of oil, natural gas liquids, and gas to drilling and production, bearings and compression, and automation end markets. The Engineered Systems segment offers precision marking and coding, digital textile, soldering and dispensing equipment, and related consumables and services; and automation components, including manual clamps, power clamps, rotary and linear mechanical indexers, conveyors, pick and place units, glove ports, and manipulators, as well as end-of-arm robotic grippers, slides, and end effectors for printing and identification, vehicle service, waste handling, and industrial end markets. The Fluids segment focuses on the safe handling of critical fluids across the retail fueling, chemical, hygienic, and industrial markets. It also manufactures connectors for use in various bio-processing applications; and reciprocating pumps that are used in demanding and specialized fluid transfer process applications. The Refrigeration & Food Equipment segment provides refrigeration systems, refrigeration display cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, specialty glass, commercial glass refrigerator and freezer doors, and brazed heat exchangers; and electrical distribution products and engineering services, commercial food service equipment, cook-chill production systems, custom food storage and preparation products, kitchen ventilation systems, conveyer systems, beverage can-making machinery, and packaging machines used for meat, poultry, and other food products. The company was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois.

For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $1,758,628,000 against $1,962,636,000 a year ago. Operating earnings were $251,873,000 against $329,275,000 a year ago. Earnings before provision for income taxes and discontinued operations were $221,141,000 against $303,547,000 a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations were $155,634,000 or $0.97 per diluted share against $210,581,000 or $1.25 per diluted share a year ago. Net earnings were $332,396,000 or $2.07 per diluted share against $213,959,000 or $1.27 per diluted share a year ago. Adjusted diluted earnings per common share from continuing operations were $0.97 against $1.25 a year ago. Adjusted earnings from continuing operations were $155,634,000 against $211,216,000 a year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was $218,911,000 against $185,013,000 a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment was $43,807,000 against $42,550,000 a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenue of $3,474,129,000 against $3,765,206,000 a year ago. For the full year, the company expects to generate free cash flow of approximately 11% of revenue. The company continue to expect the full year tax rate to be approximately 29%.
