Dominion Diamond Corporation engages in the mining and marketing of rough diamonds. It operates through Diavik Diamond Mine and Ekati Diamond Mine segments. The company holds an 88.9% ownership interest in the Ekati group of mineral claims, as well as a 65.3% ownership interest in other reserves; and a 40% ownership interest in the Diavik group of mineral claims located at Lac de Gras in Northwest Territories, Canada. It produces, sorts, and sells rough diamonds in North America, Europe, and India. The company was formerly known as Harry Winston Diamond Corporation and changed its name to Dominion Diamond Corporation in March 2013. Dominion Diamond Corporation was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Yellowknife, Canada.

Dominion Diamond Corporation reported Diavik Diamond Mine production results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014. Mining activities will be exclusively underground with approximately 0.8 million tonnes expected to be sourced from A-154 North, approximately 0.4 million tonnes from A-154 South and approximately 0.9 million tonnes from A-418. In addition to the 6.7 million carats produced from run of mine ore, there will be production from coarse ore rejects. This additional production is not included in the company's ore reserves, and is therefore incremental. Based on historical recovery rates, the tonnage of this material that is planned to be processed during calendar 2015 would produce 0.3 million carats from COR. The company's Diavik Diamond Mine Production Tonnes processed was 0.56 million compared to 0.62 million a year ago. The company's Diavik Diamond Mine Production Carats recovered was 2.14 million compared to 2.15 million a year ago.
