Dairy Crest Group plc, a dairy food company, processes and sells fresh milk and branded dairy products in the United Kingdom and internationally. It offers various cheese products, including cheddar cheese under the Cathedral City, Davidstow, and Chedds brands; and butters and spreads under the Country Life, Clover, Utterly Butterly, Vitalite, and Willow brands. The company also conventional, organic, and flavoured milk under the Country Life brand; milk in bags; potted creams; milk powders and cream under the FRijj brand; and bulk and specialist dairy products. In addition, it trades in bulk dairy commodity products and specialty ingredients on behalf of other dairy companies; and skimmed milk powders for various companies. Further, the company develops, manufactures, and markets a range of food ingredients and retail products for the food manufacturing industry comprising a range of stress relief products based on milk protein, as well as GelTec, a clean label egg replacement; and soy sauces, salad dressings, mustards, and Worcester sauces. Dairy Crest Group plc offers its products to food catering sector, including hotels, restaurants, pub, bars, schools, cafes, coffee shops, convenience stores, hospitals, and care-homes. The company was founded in 1933 and is headquartered in Esher, the United Kingdom.

Martyn Wilks Leaves Dairy Crest as Executive Managing Director

On 31 March 2015, Martyn Wilks, Executive Managing Director, will leave Dairy Crest to pursue other interests. Martyn has been on the Board for over seven years At this time he will not be replaced on the Board. Most of his key responsibilities will transfer to Adam Braithwaite. Adam has held the role of Group Commercial Director for the past two years and was appointed to the Management Board earlier this year.

Dairy Crest Group Plc. Retains Milk Contract with Morrisons

Dairy Crest Group plc announced that it has retained its contract to supply fresh milk to Morrisons for a further three years, following a competitive tender process. But the volumes Morrisons purchases from Dairy Crest, will be reduced by around one third from March. Dairy Crest does not expect this to materially affect its financial results for the year ending March 31, 2015. In addition to fresh milk, Dairy Crest will continue to supply Morrisons with cheese, flavored milk, butter and spreads.

Dairy Crest Group plc announced earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2014. For the six months, the company announced profit of GBP 700,000, or 0.5 pence per diluted share, compared to GBP 17.9 million, or 12.8 pence per diluted share, for the same period ended September 30, 2013. Group revenue for the first six months ended September 30, 2014 was GBP 682.1 million, compared to GBP 672.2 million for the same period ended September 30, 2013. Profit on operations for the first six months ended September 30, 2014 was GBP 5.6 million, compared to GBP 25.2 million for the same period ended September 30, 2013. Profit before tax for the first six months ended September 30, 2014 was GBP 900,000, compared to GBP 19.7 million for the same period ended September 30, 2013.
