Dangote Cement Plc Unveils Plans to Commission 2.5 Million mtpa Cement Plant in Ethiopia

As part of its expansion plan in Africa, Dangote Cement Plc has unveiled plans to commission its 2.5 million mtpa cement plant in Ethiopia as the company inches towards its 40 million mtpa global total production capacity target before the end of 2015. The company is investing $5 billion to build an African cement empire, with factories plants in 14 African countries.

Dangote Cement Plc Proposes Dividend for the Year 2014, Payable on April 30, 2015

Dangote Cement Plc announced that the directors proposed a dividend of NGL 6.0 per share to be paid to shareholders on April 30, 2015. This represents a dividend pay-out ratio of 63.7%, higher than last year's 59.1%. The proposed dividend is subject to the approval of shareholders at the company's Annual General meeting on April 29, 2015. If approved, the total amount payable in respect of dividends for 2014 will be NGL 102.2 billion. The dividend will be payable to all shareholders whose names appear in the register of members at close of business on April 17, 2015.
