CVR Energy, Inc., through its subsidiaries, is engaged in petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing activities in the United States. The company operates through two segments, Petroleum and Nitrogen Fertilizer. The Petroleum segment refines and markets transportation fuels, such as gasoline, diesel fuel, pet coke, propane, butane, slurry, sulfur, gas oil, asphalt, jet fuel, and other products. This segment owns and operates a coking medium-sour crude oil refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas and Wynnewood, Oklahoma; and a crude oil gathering system serving Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. It also owns a proprietary pipeline system that transports crude oil from Caney, Kansas to its refinery; and supplies products through tanker trucks directly to customers located in Coffeyville, Kansas, Wynnewood, and Oklahoma, as well as to customers at throughput terminals on Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. and NuStar Energy, LP’s refined products distribution systems. This segment primarily serves retailers, railroads, farm cooperatives, and other refiners/marketers. The Nitrogen Fertilizer segment operates a nitrogen fertilizer plant in North America that utilizes a pet coke gasification process to produce nitrogen fertilizer. It markets ammonia products to industrial and agricultural customers; and UAN, a solution of urea and ammonium nitrate used as a fertilizer to agricultural customers. This segment offers its products in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, and Texas. CVR Energy, Inc. is headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas.

CVR Energy, Inc., CVR Refining, LP and CVR Partners, LP Announce Executive Changes

CVR Energy, Inc. announced that John R. Walter will become the company's senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, effective immediately. Walter will also serve as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for the general partner of CVR Refining, LP and CVR Partners, LP. He replaces Edmund S. Gross, who retired on Dec. 31, 2014. Walter joined CVR Energy in 2008 as associate general counsel and later served as vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary. In his new role, Walter will lead all corporate legal functions, as well as provide strategic counsel to all CVR Energy companies. He will also serve in the corporate secretary role. Prior to joining CVR Energy, Walter served as a corporate and transactional attorney for Kansas City, Stinson Morrison Hecker, LLP and Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee, P.C. for a combined six years.

CVR Energy, Inc. announced that the employment agreement for Edmund S. Gross, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the company, expires and his employment will end on December 31, 2014. In addition, on December 18, 2014, CVR Energy entered into an amendment of the employment agreement with Robert W. Haugen. Mr. Haugen is Executive Vice President, Refining Operations, and is a named executive officer of CVR Energy.
