Cooper Tire & Rubber Company was founded in 1913 and is based in Findlay, Ohio.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Launches New Roadmaster RM230 WH Waste-Haul Tire

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company is adding to its Roadmaster line of commercial tires with a new entry that is designed specifically to withstand the demands of sanitation trucks. The new RM230 WH is an all-position waste-haul tire available in size 315/80R22.5 with load range L. The Roadmaster RM230 WH is an inch wider than its predecessor, with a 20% larger footprint than any previous Roadmaster waste-haul tire. Cooper provides a warranty on the RM230 WH that offers two retreads within six years, and the tire features a high-tensile strength four-belt package to aid in retreadability. 'For waste fleets, steer tire casings provide the life for the drive tires, and trailer tires too if the fleet also runs transfer dump operations'.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $751,781,000 compared to $888,685,000 a year ago. Operating profit was $99,428,000 compared to $76,589,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $95,294,000 compared to $70,544,000 a year ago. Net income was $60,476,000 compared to $44,758,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $59,582,000 compared to $38,182,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $1.03 compared to $0.59 a year ago. Cash generated by operations was $55 million in the second quarter. Capital expenditures in the second quarter were $41 million. For the six months, the company reported net sales of $1,414,987,000 compared to $1,685,143,000 a year ago. Operating profit was $169,782,000 compared to $157,500,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $159,932,000 compared to $144,839,000 a year ago. Net income was $102,638,000 compared to $96,486,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $100,343,000 compared to $83,616,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $1.72 compared to $1.30 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $46,874,000 compared to $9,921,000 a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment were $88,598,000 compared to $76,132,000 a year ago. The company provided earnings guidance for the full year of 2015. For the year, the company expects effective tax rate in the range of 33% to 37%, SG&A in the range of $265 million to $275 million. Full company operating margin for 2015 is expected to be above the high end of midterm target of 8% to 10%, but below the results of the first half of this year. Further, the company expects sales of $3.3 billion to $3.4 billion, while capital spending is projected at $185 million to $200 million.
