Credit Suisse to Close Down Managed Lending Business

Credit Suisse announced a plan to close down its managed lending business, meant for institutional investors. The bank said that it was closing down the unit that was meant to provide third-party agency securities lending services to large institutional investors by June 30, 2015.

Credit Suisse Names Muwaffak Bibi as Head for Ultra-High Net Worth Operations

Credit Suisse has hired Muwaffak Bibi to head its ultra-high net worth individuals business in the Middle East. Bibi was previously with Citigroup Inc. He is to be based in Geneva and will report to Bruno Daher, chief executive of Credit Suisse Middle East.

Credit Suisse to Fight $10 Billion Mortgage Suit

Credit Suisse had requested for a dismissal of the case that had been filed in 2012. However, its request was rejected by the New York State Supreme Court. Credit Suisse has been accused by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman of misrepresenting the quality of esidential mortgage-backed securities during 2006 and 2007. According to the lawsuit, investors have suffered losses of close to $11.2 billion on the securities. Last year, the bank had responded to the lawsuit arguing that New York had missed a three-year deadline for suing. However, the state countered that by saying that it had six years to file its complaint.
