Credit Suisse Announces Executive Changes

Credit Suisse has hired Felix Scherzer and Stephen Carter as new global co-heads of mergers and acquisitions for financial institutions. In their newly created roles, Scherzer and Carter will be responsible for advising on deals for banks, insurance companies, specialty finance companies, financial technology companies and asset managers. Additionally, the bank has named Eric Richard as new Europe, Middle East and Africa head for financial institutions group. Prior to this role, Scherzer had managed financial institutions merger advisory for the Americas based in New York at Credit Suisse, while Carter held a similar role for Europe, the Middle East and Africa based in London. Before joining Credit Suisse, Scherzer served a similar role at Morgan Stanley in January. Based in London, Denat will continue to remain as head of leveraged finance and sponsors group for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Also, Thomas Davidov and Sarah-Marie Martin have been named as co-heads of the Americas financial sponsors, replacing Price.

Credit Suisse Names Harold Bogle as Chairman of Global Investment Banking Department

Credit Suisse has announced that it has named a chairman for its global investment banking department. Harold Bogle has been named as chairman of IBD, while Didier Denat and Malcolm Price will succeed him as co-heads of its global financial sponsors group. Bogle joined the bank in 1981 and founded the bank's financial sponsors group in 1996.

Hanson Building Products Seeks IPO

Lone Star Funds, who bought the Hanson Building Products Limited from HeidelbergCement AG(DB:HEI) for $1.4 billion, is planning to go forward with an IPO of Hanson Building Products. Lone Star Funds is working with Credit Suisse Group AG (SWX:CSGN) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB:DBK) on the potential IPO.
