AXA Group Reportedly Seeks To Sell UK Wealth Management Business

AXA Group (ENXTPA:CS) has reportedly put its UK wealth management business, including AXA Wealth Limited up for sale. According to industry insiders, AXA has appointed Barclays to manage the sale. The process is not believed to apply to the investment side of the business.

AXA Rules Out Bid For RSA

AXA Group (ENXTPA:CS) Chief Executive Officer Henri de Castries ruled out a bid for RSA Insurance Group plc (LSE:RSA). AXA executives said they would stick to their original, small-scale M&A plans in response to questions about whether they might bid for RSA Insurance, that may soon be bought by another player - potentially Zurich Insurance Group Ltd (SWX:ZURN).

AXA Seeks Acquisitions

The Chief Executive Officer of AXA Group (ENXTPA:CS), Henri de Castries, told journalists on August 3, 2015 that the firm "does not have problems of scale" and that the company will stick to its previous strategy of acquiring small targets. "What matters to us is pursuing our development in a coherent way in line with the group's long-term ambitions - that is to say by continuing to grow in emerging markets where the bulk of the wealth will be created in coming years, and in [using] new technologies to better serve our customers in mature countries," de Castries said. "We do not need to make very large M&A deals. What we do instead, and what we do on a regular basis are targeted operations of the kinds we've done in the first half."
