Charter Seeks To Sell Collie Central Shopping Centre

Charter Hall Retail REIT (ASX:CQR) is selling the Collie Central Shopping Centre, and with mining, power generation and agricultural industries surrounding the town, property company JLL is expecting a strong response from buyers. JLL manager, sales and investments, Sean Flynn said the Woolworths-anchored asset in the towns retail heart was expected to generate significant interest from investors seeking a targeted, strategic retail acquisition. Charter Hall Retail REIT Raises $252 Million in US Private Placement as Part of its Overall $950 Million Debt Restructure

Charter Hall Retail REIT has raised $252 million in a US private placement as part of its overall $950 million debt restructure. The real estate investment trust, which owns sub-regional shopping centres around Australia, raised the $252 million at a cost of 4.2% in Australian terms for a duration of 12 years. The private placement was six times oversubcribed with large US-based insurance companies piling in. The Charter Hall Retail REIT will also transition to a fully unsecured debt facility and increase its syndicated bank debt facility to $585 million from $535 million.

Charter Hall Retail REIT reported earnings results for the half year ended December 31, 2014. For the period, the company reported total revenue of $130.4 million compared with $103.7 million for the same period last year. Profit after tax was $69.0 million or 18.8 cents per share compared with $18.4 million or 5.4 cents per share for the same period last year.
