The Board of Directors for Capital Power Corporation declared a dividend of $0.34 per share on the outstanding common shares for the quarter ending March 31, 2015. The dividend is payable on April 30, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 31, 2015. The Board of Directors also declared the dividend of $0.2875, $0.2875 and $0.28125 on Series 1, Series 3 and Series 5 respectively on its Cumulative Rate Reset Preference Shares. The dividend is payable on March 31, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 18, 2015.

Capital Power Corporation Reports Unaudited Earnings and Operational Results for the Fourth Quarter and Year Ended December 31, 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Capital Power Corporation reported unaudited earnings and operational results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. Funds from operations were $102 million in the fourth quarter of 2014, a decrease of 7% from $110 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. Normalized earnings attributable to common shareholders in the fourth quarter of 2014 were $17 million, or $0.20 per basic and diluted share, compared with $32 million, or $0.40 per basic and diluted share, in the comparable period of 2013. Net income attributable to shareholders in the fourth quarter of 2014 was $39 million and earnings per basic and diluted share (attributable to common shareholders) were $0.40 compared with net income attributable to shareholders of $77 million and earnings per basic and diluted share of $0.89 (attributable to common shareholders) in the comparable period of 2013. Revenues were $432 million compared to $327 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $141 million compared to $119 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment and other assets was $57 million compared to $59 million a year ago. For the year ended December 31, 2014, funds from operations totaled $362 million compared with $426 million for the year ended December 31, 2013. Normalized earnings attributable to common shareholders were $59 million or $0.72 per basic and diluted share compared with $127 million or $1.74 per basic and diluted share for 2013. Net income attributable to shareholders in 2014 was $46 million and earnings per basic and diluted share (attributable to common shareholders) were $0.28 compared with net income attributable to shareholders of $175 million and earnings per diluted share (attributable to common shareholders) of $2.08 in 2013. Revenues were $1,228 million compared to $1,393 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $423 million compared to $509 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment and other assets was $220 million compared to $943 million a year ago. Sustaining CapEx was $75 million in 2014. For the quarter, the company reported electricity generation (excluding acquired Sundance PPA) of 3,204 GWh against 3,925 GWh for the same period a year ago. For the quarter, the company reported electricity generation (excluding acquired Sundance PPA) of 12,376 GWh against 16,130 GWh for the same period a year ago. With its Alberta baseload position fully hedged for 2015, it will have a reduced financial impact on its 2015 financial guidance. Despite the lower forecast for Alberta power prices for the year, its 2015 funds from operations expectations remains in the targeted range but at the lower end of the $365 million to $415 million guidance. The company is targeting sustaining CapEx of $65 million for 2015. For 2015, the company is targeting $180 million to $200 million for its plant operating and maintenance expenses, which includes Shepard.

Capital Power Corporation Appoints Patrick Daniel to the Board of Directors

Capital Power Corporation announced the appointment of Patrick Daniel to the Company's Board of Directors effective February 17, 2015. Mr. Daniel has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry and was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer for Enbridge Inc.; a position he held from 2001 to 2012. Mr. Daniel also served as a director of Enbridge Inc. from 2000 to 2012. Currently, Mr. Daniel is a director of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Cenovus Energy Inc. He is also a member of the North American Review Board of American Air Liquide Holdings Inc.
